So you think the ship stuck in the Suez canal was an accident?

The complete article is now a pay for service, too bad I did not capture it as first presented.
It was originally presented at a meeting some years back and explains what is now proceeding.

Too bad it is not on every TV screen world wide.

Their plan is what you see happening and that is to overwhelm the US's capability to react to 4 wars at once and world wide mass globalization distribution of commerce.

The Ship in the SUEZ Canal is all part of their plan.

    So you think not?

How come their is only one puny small excavator?

They've since rolled in the big guns to free the ship.
Was it an accident, yes I believe so, but this accident did show those who would want to cripple world trade, particularly European trade, that blocking the canal is relatively easy.

Seems far fetched to wait so long to bring in the big guns, and a reason I attached the link is to show how close they were to the entry point and how they work to clear problems.

My suspicious meter on this is about 75% it was a set up to test response. No facts, just a gut feeling.

Regardless, like @nkawtg said the cat's out of the bag to terrorists. Imagine if something more significant than a stuck ship happened there and at the Panama Canal at the same time? Toss in some select straights in Indonesia and things get real complicated real fast.

If they really want to mess things up, find a way to block the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant amount of the world's oil is shipped.

What is to keep the crazies from doing this for real on various canals including the panama canal?

Except there are specific rules about dust storms and moving ships.

Well the crazies are well aware of what happens to players who make a move above their pay scale.

What's really telling is the shift away from big Marine Salvage companies that operate those Monster Salvage boats, a quick and dirty check shows 16 large towing vessels within 800 miles, and 40 within 1000 miles! BUT, no dedicated Salvors until you get to France! Spain does operate a handful of emergency response tugs of greater then 12000 HP, but you still gotta visit France for any thing bigger! After that, it's all shifted toward the Oil industry and it's big AHT Multi purpose boats, which have the HP, but not the heavy towing equipment!

Conversely, I see Fred Divine Diving and Salvage is still around and open for business, and the legendary Salvage Chief is still ready for action, having just passed her annual U.S. Coast Guard Inspections and certifications! The Chief could have that monster container ship off the beach in a few hours if she were called on, just take a couple of weeks for her to make the trip is all! That would sure be an EPIC book end to the Chiefs legend, as she is the most successful salvage vessel in history, having saved over 250 distressed vessels, and recovered wrecks! Not bad for a 80 year old lady built almost entirely of Surplus and Salvage parts!

It would be instructive to know what the canal pilot's credentials look like. It would be even more instructive to know how the wind is read. Pretty hard to see puffs over sun glare land.
Moreover, she is single screw, which will make her try to dance sideways if the engine speed is changed suddenly and the bow thrusters are NOT correctly used. Handling that beast is not like driving a ski boat.
