My local Rural King is getting ammo in almost on a daily basis. It is still a case or two of various brand/caliber and with a two box per person in place still sells out by the end of the day.
When brass XM-193 hits $300 relative to pre 2020 buying power we are back to normal (wait until those stimulus packages cause the inflation that will get us finally dropped as the reserve currency) . Don't see that unless Kneepads loses in 2024.
Same, same. It's nuts. I stocked yup long ago, but this Friday I went off to zero a new build. and discovered the %^&*@!!! mount was machined on a bias. Can I fix it? Yes, but I burnt 60 rd of Federal 5.56 green tip to find that out. Only thing I'm not tight about is .22 - and even with 10K plus of that put back. You can't replace it at the old prices.
I'm watching federal 40gr fmj 5.7x28 ammo it's going for around $2 a shot for 250 round lots. Turns out there aren't a whole lot of people who have a grand to blow on 5.7 ammo. I would get less if I listed 10 boxes opposed to 2 lots of 5 boxes.
It's been funny around here. I expected the range to see fewer and fewer shooters as ammo got harder to find. I did see a slight increase in trap shooters, and they admitted that they were shooting trap because it was the only ammo they could find. Other than that I felt like I'd better be bringing a book to work as we slowly wound down to having no shooters at all. Happily, my predictions couldn't have been more wrong. The line has been mostly full both Saturday and Sunday for the last three weekends. This weekend I made more radio calls that I had no open spots than I did reporting openings. Folks are finding ammo somewhere and are shooting up plenty of it.
Just got home from Cabelas and even they have little to no ammo. I've got more ammo under my bed than they had on display! This is pathetic.
Remington is supposed to be back at or near full production. I don't think Remington makes powder so ammo and primers will likely be coming more available but possibly less powders aside from black and pyrodex.
My Walmart this morning had rem thunderbolt in stock. They had a little over40 bulk packs of 500 priced @$29.95 each.
On Friday morning I got 2 boxes of 9mm Blazer at Academy. They had quite a bit of ammo behind the counter.
