I also have a X900 side by side diesel. Best money I’ve spent in a while. I have a little over 4000 miles on it so far without any problems. The thing I wish I could do over would have bought it with sealed cab with heat and air. I put a cheap winch that I had on it. I didn’t feel like doing the service on it the last time so I let the dealer have it,something I will never do again,a little over $400.00 to do a complete service. That included motor oil, motor filters, fuel filters, trans oil and filters, they went over it from front bumper to the back bumper. It got down to 8* here this week, used glow plugs and bumped it over, fired right up.

Just for s&g, I priced one I'd like, a moderately kitted out x900 diesel. New, it's half the price I paid for my P/U, and too tall to fit in my garage. i think I'll just keep dreaming.

Just so you’all know... They only make two models of the Diesel Kubotas. at the Factory... the difference is the engine size... All the rest of the options, are Kits that the dealer installs at his place, before you pick it up... So, you can order all that optional Kit stuff from your dealer and install it your self... One of the cool ideas that Kubota did in the design stage... My niece’s husband is a Kubota Dealer in southern Utah, and I can get any of the Kits, for mine at cost... By the By, changing the Oil Filter on the engine is no easy task.. Small hands, and contortionist body, is required, and a couple of hours of your time...

You are right about changing oil. You have to drop the skid plate, drain the oil, replace filter and then replace the skid plate. Not really easy for this old body. I liked to have had a heart attack when they told me $400.00,. Great vehicle, worth every penny. And do not ask why but you cannot do without a winch of some kind for a emergency, you are going to need it. Take care of it and it will last a lifetime.

    Must be different than mi
All I had to do was lift the bed, and reach in from the battery side and unscrew the filter.
To make it quicker you do need to unscrew the fill point on top of the engine before you pull the drain plug but that is a given on any engine.

I do suggest anyone in a dusty area purchase the high mount air intake kit as it does add a bit of power and makes the change time double since the new filter setup is larger and will encounter less dirty air.
