Mars is unsustainable, for several reasons. Reach for the stars!

I think flying through outer space(if you are awake and able to see) The view on this trip would make it appealing to me. I'm not up on the time involved to get there.

That one thing about being an old guy,
I don't travel much and this would b a good way to get out and see things.
So it is a one-way trip and I'll probably die on route or over time, I'm going to die one way or another, and to further the knowledge of space might be a positive contribution to mankind, even if it is to prove it's not a good idea.
Does the bumblebee know that his wing to weight ratio are not enough to fly? but he flies anyway.
There are a lot of things I build that are purely for my own entertainment and education, and sometimes in the creation, I invent new tools along the away. It may mean nothing to any one else, but it means a great deal to me.

Hmm. Going to Mars sounds cool. But when it comes down to it, there won't be so many willing. These are very big risks. Most likely unjustified risks. I try not to leave the house. But I like what is happening with space companies now. A strange combination.

No thank you--- even as bad as it may get here the Martians can have it all to themselves.

Maybe,if I could carry my guns along with a lifetime supply of JackDaniels. Might be nice to get away from some of this crap that’s going on now. Better yet send the dimocrat party to settle there.

Great idea all the demoRATS would be dead in a week none of them know how to work and there would be no place on Mars to get free stuff

How fast would a 30.06 bullet travel on Mars? Faster here or Faster there?

Same muzzle velocity, but no air friction loss. (For a first guess.)
That said, it will arc due to gravity.

The bullet should travel more slowly, but further. Freefall acceleration on Mars is about 3.7 m / s. Anyway, none of us will fly there. It is much more interesting to observe the development of space events without leaving the room. Ha

I prefer Earth myself. Mars had it's chance, and died. Too many obvious reasons it can never be terraformed. It's a dead world, and always will be. But if I am still alive, I will watch a Mars Mission on telly with great interest. It'll be like watching the old Spanish and English explorers setting sail across the Ocean Sea. But no friendly Indians to greet them.

There is more about this. It is unlikely that the scientists and engineers who work on these projects will themselves take part in the colonization of Mars.
This raises some concerns. On the other hand, it is strange to take risks with qualified specialists. I love rockets. But I prefer missions like launching satellites or vehicles. (To observe, unfortunately, I'm too dumb to participate in the development)
