An Estimated 1.5 Billion Masks Have Entered Oceans In 2020 Who couldn’t see this nonsense coming? Duh. A year ago we were worried about single use grocery bags. 20 years ago (or more) paper ones were evil, loggers and $hit. Here’s my problem. I could take a pic of a homeless camp or a shooting area and folks would have trouble distinguishing them. (Besides the obvious, shotgun shells) The other problem is the shooters are armed, sometimes young and strong too. Lol. What happened to us as human beings? I can only sneak so much into the company dumpster. I’ma start a crusade perhaps. Lol.
I thought only plastic straws were dangerous to fish and other wildlife? If you watch any of the walk through videos taken in the camps around Portland you will notice a few things There are cleaning crews (not sure if they are volunteers from various organizations or city paid) that are working to pick up the trash while the residents themselves continue to chuck their garbage outside their tents. The cleaning crews all wear masks and gloves. The residents, living a few feet apart and also socializing, are rarely seen wearing masks. Strangely, there have been no COVID outbreaks at any of these camps. The cleaning crews are treated like hotel staff by the camp residents. There is no "thank you for helping" or "I'm not doing anything right now, let me pitch in" from the campers who mostly just hang out and ignore them. Feeling entitled, anyone? The camps are mostly in a narrow line as they follow recreational paths or line up along side on-ramps, off-ramps and roadsides. Cleaning crews start at one end and work their way to the other end, By the time they are done trash has already piled up at the end where they started. It's sort of like painting a ship - by the time you are done you need to start painting the ship again. The people that trash the shooting areas make me pretty damn mad. I always take garbage bags with me an pick up whatever I can. Just like Portland's camps, there are plenty of them that leave trash behind and never have a single thought about it. Several of the shooting forums have members who have outings to popular areas to have clean ups, but it shouldn't be necessary.
Simple.... Because the PTB haven’t thought the process all the way thru... They aren’t smart enough to do that because it is all Reactionary Thinking on their part....
Medical waste rules, probably, so they are pitched on the roads instead 'cause no recycler wants to deal with them.
Early on the parking lots up this way were full of masks and gloves. Then, as people decided it wasn't the Spanish Flu 2.0, the gloves phased out and the number of castaway masks greatly decreased. Still see at least a couple in every lot we stop in, but better than the loaded diapers I always see in the Walmart parking lot.
What about single use doggie bags? Where’s the outrage? Lol. I hate dog parks but Henry and Peter don’t. The last time I was stupid enough to take them to one up near my folks’ house Henry pissed on a guy in rubber boots. Five of them were standing around in a circle jerk with masks. Their fault. Haha.
I took one pic that day. I thought Henry was dead courtesy of a Rottweiler. Turns out he wanted to play. Lol. Henry. Black Labs Matter.
Sounds like ole Henry ,, like most dogs can sense decent people ,, he found one that wasn't that decent i guess . You're more than welcome to wash out those single use bags and get a couple more uses out of them if you want ,,,,,,,,,,,
What’s wrong with a shovel and launching it over the fence? This is where I got the idea of a trebuchet for human waste. Genius! Lol.
