I also divided a box of 500 9mm with my grandkids and I’m keeping the rest.
So thankful I did all of my buying years ago. Guess I will stop shooting until prices drop. I normally buy ammo to take to the range so as to leave my preps intact. Reloading supplies are approaching crazy price levels too, when you can find them.
Not just gun ammo that is short on supply. Started having trouble finding cross bow bolts and arrows for the bows a couple Months back. Black powder supplies are pretty lean as well. No shortage of 12 and 20 gauge bird and small game loads though Wrong time to be a nooblet just getting into shooting or an old hand that only buys a couple boxes here and there. Really not seeing it getting better for at least the next four years and probably a whole lot worse.
Grabbed a 25 round box of 20 gauge buckshot at Academy last week. Even the birdshot is starting to thin out.
Federal is selling ammo direct thru Mail order now and have a little new stock everyday. Price is not bad,but a limit of two boxes plus shipping is not really good. We just might have to do it the old way and start “ringing “ bird shot and making slugs out of them. I remember back when I was growing up my granddaddy would make me walk to the store and get him two 12 ga shells. You could buy one or two shells out of the box.
I sold my 44 mag partial boxes for $1 a round, 44 spl went for a little more than $1 per round, but 45colt went for nearly $2 per shot.
I still have a metric ass ton of .45 Colt I need to figure out what to do with!! I know, first world problems! LOL What I should do is break them all down for the components and start over!
I need to count my .45 colt just to see the count. I have two revolvers and one lever action that I really like. I’m not going to be in bind because of a really good friend reloads when I need it. It’s hard to believe that .45 colt is selling for more than .44 mag. The .45 colt will kill more better than the .44 mag I have found. I lucked out on .45 colt ,a friend gave me a little over 200 .45 colt alum case that he had got wet.I’ve shot over fifty without any fail to fire. My gain.
I walked into a new to me place off I-49 yesterday...Didn't ask and didn't buy nuffins except Black Rifle coffee...mmm..mmm
Most ammo is twice as much as it cost just a while back. I would like to find some roundball in .690 so I can reload some of those cheap bird shotshells I bought.
During the Obummer admin I reloaded a lot of ammo and vacuum sealed it and it is stored in ammo cans. I used to go to the range and pick up brass-- not any more people aren't leaving it any more. Have a good supply of powder and primers. With the pending socialist take over of USA prices will sky rocket even higher for fire arms and ammo so gad I stocked up
If you don’t have it now,it’s too late. Had a guy offer me $100.00 for one box .44mag,I turned him down. My grandkids are ok with ammo, the only other person I have let have ammo is my doctor and I told him no more.
What in hades is a 300 legend? EDIT,Could be 350 legend,Writing is so small Picked these up yesterday evening goofing around..
350 legend is a straight wall cartridge that can be used in areas where it's shotgun only OR straight walled cartridges not larger than 1.8" in length. Like southern Michigan. EDIT, I hear it also makes a good hog cartridge as well.
I just bought 500 .22 lr wildcats in the 100 box’s for $7.33 a 100 at Walmart. I left 5 boxes for the next person. It’s the first .22 ammo I’ve seen in a while
Went to the local Big Box store (Bass Pro) ZERO pistol ammo except for the Atomic bomb sized cartilages (500&SW 454 casul etc..) FAor amount of 270 (this is Alaska) and really oddball crap like 218 Bee. NO -06, no 308. I don't see this getting any better. Everyone says it is out the door as soon as it hits the shelf.
Damn it,I picked up about 5 or 6 more this evening,Must be rich guys out shooting yesterday and today ?
