Christmas and all so we are collecting gifts for Vets. In the process we (the chapter) completed a list of house bound and nursing home Vets. This allows the Chapter to serve Vets during this time of need. Anyway we have a shopping list of multple items and had placed the order on line at Walmart for no place in town had what we decided on in the quantity and variety we needed. The email politely ask if they could help expedite our needs since it was a varied list. We replied that we needed the items 5 days before Christmas as the Nursing homes have a 4 day impound due to Covid19. Walmart reply was instant and we saw orders from various states to fulfill our needs. Some only had 2 items others in a quantity of ten or so. This so we would have time to sort and package the gifts and meet the dead line for those that needed the time to add their own personal notes and insure we had enough for the population we serve. Yup the front room is about full and the delivery drivers have about finished the deliveries. It is nice to know help was provided without asking.
and yet Walmart is routinely damned in the popular press/many places on line. Thanks for sharing the positive interaction.
Yes I suspect Walmart's excellent stocking software raised a few red flags as to unusual orders from a single source. I expect to see the 20 lap blankets soon.
And we received the 20 Lap Blankets in one shipment today. All gifts are in simple hand carry corded brown bags so with help from other volunteers we will get them out this week.
