Freezers are an integral part of our food storage setup, we have 6 smaller (7-9cuft) chest models. Our way of using them is fill, use (keep a good inventory on top the lid) and condense them down as we eat out of them. Idea behind several smaller ones versus one or two large ones is reduce the risk of one going down and losing the food in it. All of ours have a temperature alarm that goes off once it reaches mid teens internally. One of them started beeping a few weeks back, as it had quit running. I happened across a YouTube on the Supco RC0810 3 N' 1, which replaces the motor start capacitor, the start relay and the overload device if you freezer has one, all in one unit. Few minutes to pull the old stuff off, plug in this piece and the freezer started right back up and is running fine ! Not bad for a $12 repair. You can't buy the original capacitor for that, much less the other pieces. So NOW I have a spare one on the shelf, plus another version that will handle larger compressors such as on the refrigerator. HIGHLY recommend them as a spare part to stock.
The Supco RC0810 is rated for 1/12 HP to 1/5 HP compressors. Maximum RLA 4.05 Amps. The RCO410 is rated for 1/4hp to 1/3hp compressors. Max 6.8 amps

I used to be in the HVAC-R world. 75% of compressor "failures" were a bad capacitor. There is also a hard start kit, I think SPP-5, that I used a lot on 1-5 ton AC systems as well. I keep a handful of those and some spare capacitors on hand always.
