How pissed do you think they will be if trump takes the election back?
You know since they're convinced they got away with it.
I think they win either way.

Not sure what we will have for bands next year. I tend to go Blue Grass, Classis Country 70s and 80s and classic Rock 60s through early 90s. Last event which was fall 2019 Bluegrass guys played using a hay wagon as the stage and knocked out a bit over $1000 in tips and I believe we paid them $500 to play 7pm-11pm Going rates here for the regional bands are $200-$800 for 4-5 hours depending on the band on their following that they tend to bring along with them. Our house band plays for tips, food and a bottle of wine. Not great but not horrible and the kids love them. Run this by you as I have never built a stage before and want to build something very good sound, Is what I have in the diagram workable or should I make the sides and back rounded? The back and sides will be wood, so would a more porous soft wood or red oak be better or a dense post or white oak. The half circle of seating will be a terrace with 6 tiers of seating and will be clay covered in lime stone. Stage will have a roof as will the two gazebos. Stage front is 60 feet wide and 28 feet deep 12' tall. Stage and back stage will be on hydraulic lowering wheels so I can move it around or back farther from dance floor pit and gazebos. Oh and 36 inches of open under the stage with 4 solid trap doors. Doing that for our house magician that makes people vanish from one box and appear in another LOL. But have heard some bands like under stage for cables and cords. And 100amp electric service that will feed the Stage, gazebos and soft lighting at the base of each terrace. The seating and Gazebos should seat 150 comfortably with tent and table seating along the rim above the terraced seating that should hold another 100 with a view of the Stage. Hey I am going to have two mini mountains of clay when the excavator digs out each arm of the lake and the ponds. I figure one for the terraced seating and the other for a shooting range :) The most people we have had here was the last fall event with 475 and that was a bring yer own chairs and tables, or a blanket. I am a bad man I charge a $5 cover charge when we have paid bands. which pays the band, pays the guys for 2 days of cleaning up after, and puts $100-$500 in my pocket. But I make my main money on events with the food and drinks and the better the band the more money I make :) (Despite having trash cans every place, people still throw a ton of trash on the ground!) Don't think we could have found room for another vehicle to park on that one without getting into the pasture or bean field.

We have only been doing 2 events on the farm per year The Spring Party in the Woods and the Holloweenie. Planning on upping that to 2 per month with paid bands and 2 regular days with the house band. Typical event is 150-200 people over the course of a Friday or Saturday evening. And TBH the 475 that showed up last fall pushed us to every limit from food and drink to parking and not nearly enough port a johns. Had to open the Kitchen bathroom up for folks and learned that the toilet flushing non stop overloads the septic system after about 3 hours :)

Added a new annual FREE event this year Thanksgiving on the T5R and limiting it to the 48 people that can be seated in the Machine Shed. Never know if TG day in Southern IL will be freezing and snowing or Sunny and 70 LOL. And well I don't want to cook more than the 7 Turkeys and 6 hams and mash any more taters than what that will take.

Avoid the use of dense hardwoods and right angles, and be sure to slope the roof up towards the audience. It's really easy to get caught up in a box and make the bands sound like just that, they are in a box. We tend to think of focusing sound energy but it's really like throwing a handful of bouncy-balls against a wall. We want them to disperse in the general direction all at once without bouncing off of multiple different angles which will change the frequency somewhat as the human ear hears it, like ghosting on a tv set when the signal arrives at slightly different times to the antenna. Hope this is clear as mud...

Sorta agree that hardwoods and sharp angles are apt to do no good whatsoever for acoustics. However that can be handled with cheap canvass free hanging curtains with poster type artwork.

So have you considered, selling them qualification to buy weekends? So they want out of the city what can they do, teach them a little basic shooting, first aid, make them kill and grill a goat, etc, then you can pick the ones that qualify. Impress with your knowledge and ability, get a feel for them, charge everyone 4 grand a couple for the weekend, mre's included. I think you can fund a couple cabins quickly that way.
