I guess some pistol braces are illegal now, maybe? F troop is getting all riled up with the possibility of a regime change. Doesn't effect me. If I want to do anything weird with an AR I'll just form 1 SBR it.
Part of the "need" is to stay legal (at the time of the build) in some locations. A loaded rifle in a vehicle in some locations is an automatic violation from a Game Warden or State Police. Where as a pistol, loaded or not is not a violation. This, for me comes into play in protecting family while traveling. Freedom comes in many forms for many people.
When stuff goes back to normal I would like to get about a 12 inch AR57 upper that takes 50 round FN P90 mags. I would put it on a SBR lower so I could run what ever M4 style stock or no stock as I see fit.
It's not the brace, it was how specific pistols were marketed. They were marketed as a shoulder fired weapon. AR pistols are allowed to be shoulder fired but not as it's primary intended usage. Shoulder firing is supposed to be an emergency option in a defensive situation. I have one with the same wrist brace as the Honey Badger. I'm unafraid it will in and of itself be banned. If it looks like it, I'll just SBR that lower and a few others.
BTW if you have an SBA3 and like me have larger wrists and forearms there are improved straps that are also longer. These come in different colors as well: SBA3 SplitFix My point on this is you may at some point need to demonstrate using your AR pistol as a pistol. If you don't know how to adjust your brace or if you can't make it fit your argument can be a bit weak.
That's the bottom eject one that can use a gutted AR mag as a brass catcher isn't it? First time I heard one with the brass rattling around in the magazine I was quite shocked.
That comes with it's own headaches. First, it's now on a registry as a NFA item and moving it across state lines requires paperwork. In addition some states do not allow SPR's. IMO SPR's and CAN's should not be NFA items in the first place.
I would tell people it's a new case less round. If I saw some one shooting a funky lookin gun that was semiauto and was not ejecting spent casings and lacked an obvious brass catcher I would suspect case less.
