I used to love reading the TFOA (Things Falling Off Aircraft) report. I found a smaller tank in the woods at Cherry Point, but it had been there so long it was hopelessly locked in between trees on a hillside. Probably a good thing. My dreams of building a streamliner were even more like climbing into a coffin than the tin box I was driving.
Perfect for catching refrigerator bandits at work. Way quicker than Ex-Lax brownies, but not as memorable.
When one is at sea, he has a lot of time on his hands. I volunteered for extra duties to take up the time. At the same time, I was a member of the shipboard security and guard force, duty divisional damage control petty officer, and test equipment PO. And I still had extra time.
