This NFL legend has earned more off the field than any other player—here’s how
Roger wasn’t slimy enough to run for POTUS but........This guy is still my idol. There’s a guy at the gym(Butt Chin) that calls him Roger Starbuck. He legitimately thinks that’s the pronunciation. Not cool. Lol. Now of course I say boo to the NFL. I’m done forever and I’m in good company. Dems/Trump haters have joined me. I know this firsthand. Does anyone else know of anything to do on Sundays? :D

I like what he said: “I think the most important thing of all is balance. You take from life, and you give back,” he said. “If you are truly balanced, you look at giving back.”

On Sundays I try to keep the day for me. Sundays always include cooking for the week ahead. Roasts, casseroles, burritos and salads are made so that they can be re-heated during the coming week. Football and sports are not something in our home anymore. We like the Olympics but the American professional sports teams are no longer supported.

Roger won the The Heisman Trophy at the Naval Academy and then guess what? Served in Vietnam. 4 years away from his prime throwing years but........Net worth of 600M is decent. OJ won the Heisman too. Oops.

Weekends are personal time, time to get things done for me and mine! I quit beeing a sports guy after highschool, I was a champion team swimmer for 7 years, and played water polo for 4, but after I graduated, sports held nothing for me! I even made it to the second Olympics tryouts, but didn't make it to the third round! What little sports we did watch, we don't now that they have all become Woke and are using their platform to do what ever they wish, and the sport, what ever it is, ( Including NASCAR) has suffered!
Making everything into politics is a sure way to get me to ignore it and find other important things to do with my time!

We host sunday supper for the family. I grew up that way, and the wife and her family did too. One of the many things missing in this day n age is family gatherings. I remember suppers after church and all us kids running around and playing afterwards. The main thing different from them old days where the ladies did the dishes and the menfolk went out front to talk is that the guys now gather in my loading building or gun shop to see what's new. We still tell tall tales though;)

I too was a champion in sports but my family was not into it and none of us followed sports either,
In my day advertisers used movie and sports figures to sell things, it was a dumb idea and only the dumb fell for it.
Something sold best by word of acquaintance's/friend's experiences. no computer in those days no internet
I miss mom's cooking and family gatherings but that was a long time ago.
Sundays are spent where I can meet people and share the joy of the Lord with them, as the opportunity arises. not pushy.
I have a lot of things to deal with, so I'm never without something to do, or some deadline.
You might try to find some hobby or take time to discover your self, your strengths, and your weaknesses, do some writing, keep a journal.
Make peace with God. He is the best friend I have.

I would rather wash, groom, and fluff a Newfy then suffer through a couple of hours of "Sports"

I have a friend who prepared Sunday dinner. She has an open door and her children and family are invited every Sunday at 4 for dinner. It is not mandatory but a standing invitation. It is very old fashion and the way things should be. Sadly society has families spread out all over the country and those ties are not what they used to be IMO.

The real "heros" are not so much the rich and famous that do something right and are recognized for it. Those that dodge the limelight and slog on thru thick and thin get my attaboys.

We also adopted a 6 month old Malinois Puppy after getting Ludo, who is also now 10 months old! Little bugger is smarter then me, and proves it daily! LOL
    Keeps us on our toes!

You got a big enough place to land a little Super Cub Bush Plane and be able to take off again? I need about 500 feet for safety, but really only need about 100 to make it stick!

    500 feet....of flat run....no.
But I do have a couple hundred flat with a South to North landing.... as long as you skirt over the well house. ;)
