"He would score a near perfect 248 out of 250" "after I shot a 248 everyone was congratulating me, but when I got back to the squad bay my drill instructors gave me a hard time for dropping those two points,” said Ferrell with a laugh. LMAOROF
I can't count using optics on the range...my best was 246 using open sights. Even so, there are many that struggle to break 200...
I Can Hear It Now..... "after I shot a 248 everyone was congratulating me, but when I got back to the squad bay my drill instructors gave me a hard time for dropping those two points,” said Ferrell with a laugh.
I can see it in my mind ,, them DI's shark attacking his ass ,, bends a mfer's,,, pushups , leg lifts ,, Sir yes Sirs ,, aye aye sirs ,, they can't let it go to his head , they've got to keep him equal to the rest. 214 was my boot Camp score . Pissed me off to. 1 point below expert , that was with the M16 A1 , iron sights . His next stop ,, Sniper school. Congrats to hi . Fine job Marine.
Didn't even score us in the Navy. Didn't care that most couldn't hit the target... M1 Garand, the distance to target was irrelevant. Looked like a postage stamp. Qualified with the .45 at Fort Shafter.... No target, they just wanted to make sure you understood which end the bullets came out of.
My hard card said I qualified expert with an O3A3. Well, no, I had barracks watch while the rest of the company was "taking rifle instructions." Never saw the range. Now, how that came to be, I do NOT know.
Just because he can shoot don't mean he would make it through scout sniper school lot more to becoming a sniper than shooting that's the easy part most don't make it past KIMs test or land nav or just the grueling 9 weeks of being pushed to your limits and past it and his mos may not even be a 03 mos he may be a clerk typist. But if he does he will be the most deadliest thing on the battlefield not because he can shoot it's because he will be a marines
