We moved to our eight acres underneath Mt. Rainer back in September and are still learning how the land wants to be worked. I thought the field was dry enough a month ago to cut and sank the tractor to the transmission, in mud.... fun. I do love the fact that we have a tight community, two tractors showed up and a drunk gator with 4 old hecklers to observe the fun. One of the original guys to our AO laughed and said "you know, it just rained a few days ago".... really Bill... thanks... :)

I recently picked up a 1950 Ferguson TO-20 with the intent to use it as a brush-hogger and restore her to the former glory over this next winter as a project. Picked her up for $1,200 with the brush-hog implement... not bad for a tractor that cranked right up and has working hydraulics.

Anyways, I am taking back claim of the field... love the smell of fresh cut hay every night drifting through the windows. At the same time, working through a fuel delivery issue, guess a carb rebuild is near term. Old tractors can be grumpy... she can be more than that.

We lost track of time with the house remodel, gutting it one room at a time. Ended up not having time to get the garden in this year, so I am prepping planter boxes and fencing for that area.

The full home remodel is a big project, but we are propbably 50% complete... with bathrooms the next big project to tackle, once the laundry/mud room combination is complete. work in progress.

Here's a couple pics of what we have been up to. ;) 3. 12. Flooring Quandry.. Combining Laundry and Mud Room. Guest Bath. Kitchen Update. TO-20. A little field clearing. A little more field clearing. Remodeled Kitchen.

Looks like a good start. It is really good to see so many dreams and how hard you are working to make them come true. So many of us talk of the good life and dream of it, but few seem to buckle down and get to the actual work of making the dreams come true. One of my favorite parts of this forum is being able to see how other people are making their dreams come true, might be Bishop with a new survival toy and his pup, or a new food truck, or a new generator or solar system. In the crazy chaos of today's world, it is a welcome relief to share in the steps some of us are taking to make life now and in the future more comfortable.

I like to hope that there are enough sane, hard working people to provide a critical mass that will allow us as a nation to work thru these present difficulties and that a stable, happy, healthy, society will again emerge from this time of troubles. I love this nation, warts and all, and just wish we could look at its bright side and work together to make it better.

We see in the one photo that you're getting plenty of assistance from your four-footed, fur covered friends.

  6. Speaking of fur footed assistants, how do you get them to sit on the wall? Velcro?

    Outstanding job Yard!
You've got yourself a nice little tractor there. It will be sharp when it's done I'm sure. There are several good tractor sites on the web but don't forget Ebay and Amazon. I've found several parts for my 3910 on Amazon that were much cheaper than other sites on line.

What is it with women and shoes??:D

I have a ceiling similar to your high one. A fan to stir the air up there is highly recommended; at this point I just aim a fan in that direction with some effect at controlling stratification.

Tractor was the first thing I purchased after the land.
    That was in 1972.
I still have both and the Dream continues.

Just to give you a few ideals about UN-sticking tractors, I would use a ''green'' tree instead of an 8' 4x4
