Brilliant! As a guy who cut his own hair for 16 years I can appreciate this. Compact, efficient, field expedient solution to a hairy problem.

I was thinking about the manure cannon and found this.

A crowd control substance ideally is repellent in several ways, as well as difficult to remove.

To this end, consider “Bee Go”, a UV colorant for covert ID or use a vibrant color for visual ID… maybe add some glitter for festiveness. Area denial/mobility barrier is from large amounts of veterinary “j lube”. Anything with a mercaptan, and don’t forget hunting scents like fox urine analog.

For those who aren't bee keepers, the main ingredient in Bee Go is Butyric anhydride. When exposed to air this substance decomposes rapidly and smells like vomit. Okay, vomit, glitter, UV dye, regular bright dye, garlic and fox urine!! OMG, this is so much better than pepper foam. It doesn't just affect the one it's applied to, it affects everything and everywhere they go!

Might add some Avon Skin-so-soft to the mix. I find the smell repulsive, and it's hard to wash off.

That razor blade is guaranteed to dull in a hurry and start pulling. Yes, I know this. (But I admire the creativity.)

The problem. Grass is too deep and clogs up the mower. IMG_20200711_122135.
The solution. Make a rear eject deflector to keep the grass off of me and let it eject freely. IMG_20200711_133833.
The unintended consequences. Wind blows dust and grass all over me.... But the mower NEVER bogs down! IMG_20200711_135745.

After mowing and washing off with the hose I have another trick. IMG_20200711_162916.
Along with ice and water, there's just enough room to slip four adult beverages into the two gallon Coleman cooler jug. IMG_20200711_162903. I can just get hold of a can and get my hand back out. Bottles are easier, but cans don't clink together, and are okay on the beach.

The real solution, cut more often.

With no kids around to help, I'm the mower honcho at two homes. The grass doesn't grow so fast at the beach, but it grows like crazy here in the forest. I've tried scalping it, and cutting it more often, but I'm at the mercy of the weather, and it rains almost every day here this time of year, usually when I'm ready to mow. The back hill must be especially suited to grass, because it grows faster there than anywhere else.

I'm thinking about letting the grass get really tall and breaking out the sickle mower. Mine looks something like this. It's buried in the barn, but might be worth breaking out.

I have neighbors that drag rowboats full of kids behind pickups when it snows, but I've never seen a fresh water surfer.
