From law and a legal standpoint, she's fully qualified. From a philosophical, the vetting committees agree with her. More's the pity, but in MA, that's all that counts, ventilating skirts.

In my forest I keep the trashy undergrowth cut back and thinned out, keeps things from getting out of control :) Same with the livestock herds and flocks, those that don't earn their keep get culled and earn their keep that way.

Meh...I think it goes into the 'Conservative High Dudgeon' Forum (which encompasses pretty much most of the site come to think of it). Healey used a pretty thoughtless and inappropriate metaphor to describe cleaning up structural institutional racism: (Out of the ashes of a forest fire, the deadwood and rubbish is cleared to make ecological space for robust new growth). I guess Healy should have remarked that American citizens should 'rake the forest' so that trash and detritus doesn't accumulate and make a forest fire more destructive than it might be otherwise.

Blah blah b@+ch. My friends, neighbors, co-workers and folks I work for in the community are all colors and backgrounds. I see pretty much harmony and I’m not BS-ing. She’s an ugly troll is all.

What we cannot escape is that there simply is not that much institutional racism at play and what does exist there are effective mechanisms to deal with. As many or more unarmed white folks are killed by the police year in and year out. For the exact same reasons unarmed minorities are killed by the police. In almost every case the person killed has committed a crime, yes there are exceptions to that. What we have in reality is a militarized gang mentality of us VS them that has formed in many LEOs or as I call it Judge Dred syndrome. Even seeing in small town departments when they roll out their APCs and New Military hardware for the local parade. To be honest they could care what race you are when they are bashing yer head in, choking you, or fearing fer their life and shooting you. And yes they cover for each other strongly when a indiscretion occurs. The easy solution to not get killed by the police in 90% of the cases is DON'T BE A CRIMINAL. There are some real good cops and there are some real slime ball cops at the end of the day though the good cops will usually back the slime balls.

Most of this other racism stuff is not race at all but culture. The culture of entitlement and I am owed. When in fact no one is owed a damn thing and is entitled to only what they earn. Going around dicking babies Momma's to make more babies for the sole purpose of a pay raise........ ain't earning BTW. Going out getting high, drunk and a hard night of raping and robbing also is not earning, seems what is being demanded is that there be no risk or consequence for minority criminals. Now is there was all of this institutional racism there would not have been a black president, there would not be office buildings full of minority staff and supervisors, there would be no upper middle class minority neighborhoods, there would be no minority elected officials.

No what keeps minorities down is not racism but rather the minorities themselves and the cultures they have created. Whether it be on the reservation I was born on or in the ghettohood. It is the cultures of perpetual victimhood and I am owed for wrongs committed to my ancestors 100+ years ago.

As far as getting profiled and taken down in the wrong neighborhood, of course a minority in a white neighborhood is going to be suspect, just like a white boy walking through the ghetto is going to suspect. And when we get right down to it, we are all at least a little racist in our personal views. I admit I don't particularly like to be around black people or white people does not mean I can't treat them equally, fairly and with respect until they earn otherwise individually........ Also doesn't mean I have to invite them into my home and be best friends with them.

just my opinion... but IMHO it isn't so much the words used as the mindset behind the words I find objectionable...

I sympathise with your concerns about the mindset behind the words (rhetoric). It pretty much encapsulates what comes out of the POTUS's mouth and 'mind' (if it could be said that he has a mind). Healy's rhetoric is parochial small potatoes...POTUS is authoritarianism on steroids, and is prepared to throw militaristic gasoline in the dumpster fire that the USA is rapidly becoming...very redolent of Napoleonic "A whiff of grapeshot" ...and look how it turned out for France. Perhaps Donald the 'Magnificent' will get to find his St Helena.

We were off one year in Progesso Mexico when the police I guess in Texas maybe ran down a truck load of illegals.

Truck rolls,Kills like maybe 5,20 more start running away.

Police proceed to beat the snot out of several they caught running,All the while being filmed from a news helicopter.

Our friend ask us why the police in the US beats up Mexicans?

Our answer was simple and strait up....

The police beat the snot out of anyone who gives them a hard time and won't listen....

White,Black,Brown,Pink,Purple, Everyone gets an ass kicking from the police....When you bow up and act like an idiot.

The American Native Indians exterminated at Wounded Knee were not US citizens.

American Indians did not gain US citizenship until 1924 with the Indian Citizenship Act. At the time of Wounded Knee, Indians were pretty much considered to be inconvenient vermin to be confined to zoos (aka Indian reservations) or otherwise eradicated.

US ex veteran 'Bonus Marchers' (bona fide) US citizens being shot, killed, and generally beaten by the US Military would be a more ironic example.
