Be a bit careful about blaming the mfrs. Worker demands don't help keeping production costs under control.

 

It not just worker demands. Why do we pay CEO's big salary and stock bonuses for short term gains? It is the shortsighted nature of the way most publically traded companies are run

No corporate leader is worth 10000x more than the pay of the lowest paid worker. Should CEO' be paid more? Yes! But not 10000x more. The travel bonuses and other perks are almost double a CEO"s salary. And stock options are many times more and if the people you hire sit on your board and u sit on theirs, then you k ow when to buy and sell those stocks to double and triple your money.

You cannot blame workers for wanting a decent life for their families with that kind d of I sider trading g at the top

 

And the bad decisions to move off shore do not come from the rank and file workers.
Does any one know what it cost to move a plant 5000 to 10,000 miles?
Then again when it is nationalized by a foreign government the US Company is usually compensated by the US Taxpayer. As well all equipment and technologies are lost to the foreign company.

I know because I saw it happen being a first hand observer as well as the designer and project manager of said equipment.

OH So Soory they said (China) your equipment was stolen from the locked import section of the China Shipping CCP company'.

Juts like I told the company I worked for and that was after numerous company Execs had spent time in China as well as some company folks selling or renting their homes in the expectations/promises of being transferred to China as managers!!!!!

Yup even now those folks go out of their way to avoid my smiles.

several hams have reported ordering a radio (SW3B) from China and it arriving in 19 days.

These are small items, so perhaps that might explain the delivery.

 

Having been in these situations I have a different opinion. Its who you know not how good you are at running a company. Supply and demand have nothing to do with who runs a company nor does competence. If you watch CEO's they change companies every few years, sit on each other board of directors and write each other large golden parachutes for high gains.

You have to really watch over a 10-15 year period to really see what is going on and read alot of boring financial documents.
