Yup, most rounds were pretty well spent (energetically speaking) by the time they had penetrated three to five feet...not that I would want to be the test dummy...
I don't know. BUT if an mg42 with it's high cyclic rate held it's poa in a narrow cone I would think after the first few rounds had created enough cavitation it would allow some pretty good penetration. Maybe I should go stay in a Holiday Inn to better understand the problem.
