Sewing a do it yourself cloth mask

I'm not seeing it...but then you could be smiling under that mask.

 

I have to commend all the home built mask makers, really do. The fact remains that "real" masks are beyond hard to find, and to my mind should be reserved for the professionals that need them and know how to use them properly. Most of the home built items are strictly cosmetic and are about as useful for anything else as boobs on a barnacle. I've been experimenting with a bandana (nothing else but shop rags around here) and all it does is inhibit breathing and fog up my spectacles. But if the sheep are mollified and out of my face by fakery, let's just do it.

I think the wired would create gaps around the chin but I have a few wired and not wire that I will be experimenting with.

 

Two hilarious things I've seen, this month, concerning homemade masks:

1. Idiots on social media, putting out the word, that if you microwave your homemade mask, for 30 seconds, you can consider it to be sterilized. Other idiots read this, and begin to microwave their masks, WHILE FORGETTING THEY HAVE A METAL NOSE PIECE!! Yep, you guessed it! Shortly thereafter, the CDC put out the official word, "DO NOT DO THIS!!"

2. People on social media, put out the word that you can make yourself a mask, using a diaper.....but fail to mention that they're referring to a CLOTH DIAPER. So some idiots on social media (probably the same ones as referred to, above) lose their minds, pitching a fit about people will be buying up all the disposable diapers, and how am I supposed to diaper my baby when the shelves are empty, etc, etc, etc. Because, of course, these snowflakes have never actually used a cloth diaper, so what else could you be referring to, but a disposable one???

DW, just remember the magic words, if you're forced to bust a cap, in some mask nazi's ass: "I felt as though my life was in danger!!"
