With all this going on things are slowing down. Went to fill up my truck because it was at a 1/2 tank. Pulled into an Exxon station price was $1.31 per gallon. Now here's the kicker, a tanker truck was delivering fuel. I paid my $20.00 and when I returned to the pump the price dropped to $1.29! Talk about luck. So,how are gas prices in your area?
hmmm... was always told if the tanker truck is refilling the tanks go somewhere else! something about pouring that fuel in stirs up lots of crap and you get it in your tanks... so? wait till the next day when it has all settled?
Cheapest near me is $2.09 ( had I not bugged out), Oregon taxes the snot out of us ALWAYS, so while it's cheaper then it has been in 30 years, it's still more expensive then elsewhere!
You’all are lucky... Up hete in Bush Alaska, we are still selling Gasoline at last falls prices... $4.50/USG ..... I hope that when the First barge makes it here, with the Spring Fuel Shipment, our price will drop some... That is the Hope, but the reality, may be different...
1.62 / gal at several places...up the road, 0.99/gal. I suspect a gimmick, but may be a sign of things to come...SE LA
As always, it depends. Station tanks have sumps to collect crud and are pumped now and then if the owner does what needs done when it's due. Consider also that new tanks are NOT steel, most are fiberglas these days, so the only crud getting in there is delivered or inserted by klutzy deliver drivers OR sabotage.
Abut 2.00 a gal here, but have filled car once in last 3 weeks and haven't filled pickup at all, medical trips canceled, staying at home, and most people I know are driving a lot less, no school buses, no going out to hang out, no air lines flying, spring cutting heating fuel use and everyone waiting for price to drop before filling tank, etc. Demand has to have declined big time.
We're sitting around $1.55 a gallon here on gasoline. If I use the points off my United rewards I get x amount off per gallon up to 25 gallons (maximum $1 a gallon off) but I use that on the diesel since it's still sitting at $2.50ish.
$1.62 is the lowest I've seen around AR/OK border. I try to keep 10 gallons on hand in two 5 gallon cans and also try to fill up my tank when it gets to half. Every two months I'll empty the cans into the truck and refill them.
As far as I can tell the US exports more finished products than raw oil imported now. It works for me, I drive an electric car. Only change the oil about every 40,000 to 50,000 miles, plus what ever oil is used in making brake fluid and tires.
Brake fluid is likely still a petrochemical industry product, just like sulfuric acid or anti freeze, methanol, ammonia, ect.
