No gloating here. COVID-19 is likely a speed bump good enough to get attention and hopefully more will be better prepared if something real happens. Will likely save me a lot of ammo...

Never been mocked, either - OPSEC...

 

Folks always laughed at me, made fun of the fact I was a Prepper, now they ain't laughing, and many are calling me to ask "What should I do" Note, I wouldn't consider my self a prepper, more a Boy Scout ( from the good old days before sodomy) and I put up supplies for times when I'm poor, or unable to work, or......................
To me, it just makes sense to have things on hand, and to have extras just in case!

Had 27 people come out to the farm today demanding I sell meat to them. After The IL Governor JB Prickster announced he was closing restaurants and bars down what was left in SI Grocery stores evaporated instantly. Dispelled any belief that I was sitting on a hoard of supplies as I let them look in all the empty freezers and shelving And even let some peek inside my personal refrigerator/freezer in the warehouse. Nope nothing here folks.

 

What a marroon,, Getting his name address posted with food is NUTS , When folks ask me , I say i hear TP is important !! and leave it at that.
They think im nuts or a goof (Im both) but out of the conversation..

Supermarkets here cleaned out. Buddy of mine went today (told him he was nuts) and he said very few canned goods left, no paper goods. I was there yesterday and some canned stuff had been bought, but there was still plenty.

So far no one getting in fights over the last shriveled up potato. If this continues, however...

Wife was in COSTCO yesterday. Full shelves, limit of one 12 pack of TP per shopper. (finally)

She went to two other local stores looking for her oatmeal cookies (some stuff is important) - and found mostly full shelves and (hooray) her cookies.

I fully believe the mass media is pimping 'empty shelves' as a means to attack the sitting administration. We ain't living in Venezuela - not yet anyway. Let the Bernie Bros get their hands on things however....

She did note a woman at the check out comparing the displayed price on the register and a notes in her book - I assume she noted the price on the shelf - I've had the same issue with register price being higher as well....in some cases, much higher.

 

Good thing you are moving. That 27 people came to your outfit looking for Chow is not a good thing in bad times.

You shouldn't have to do that but given the "World owes me a living" attitude promoted by the left I can just see it.
Your word stating that you had nothing to sell them should have been enough to turn them around. It would me.

 

Dunno about all that,People get hungry enough they will demand your walking livestock....Or figure they can just take it...

 

you don't betray your OPSEC - EVER - you never stop denying that you prep - never admit to absolutely anything - no matter what the SHTF entails it can't trip you up all by itself ...

 

That is risk with every farm with livestock. Kind of hard to hide 800-1200 pound cattle and 150-500 pound hogs.
