I have a 94ae so it has 1:12 twist. Probably limited to 200gr bullets. The quiet 30-30 is a concept I considered around 20 years ago when I started reloading. Thought about loading up some heavy subs, then I saw the prices on heavy 30 cal bullets, they were all specialty or premium big game bullets. So I scaled back and just loaded up some cheap 124gr .311'' AK bullets on top of something like 7 or 8gr of unique. But now the 300bko is gaining popularity making cheap 220gr FMJs and plated bullets specifically designed for subsonic use available and at a typical plated bullet prices. I think I have a few hundred hornady 190gr match Spitzer bullets rolling around the reloading room that I never thought I would use. Could start there just lob them at paper to see if they hit sideways but I'm pretty sure they will fly straight.
Love my 300blk... I use H4198 and Berry's 110gr 30 carbine plated bullets running at about 1300fps. They are tack driving good at 100yds and operate my pistol length gas system like a sewing machine. Load is posted on the web somewhere... Would go to the reloading shed and give my powder weight but it's raining/hailing like crazy and don't want to leave my nice warm easy chair to go out doors and get wet...
My Self and @v0lcom13sn0w were just taking about this idea a few weeks ago! Found a awesome supplier of hard cast and coated bullets for a really good price, just haven't had the chance to test them out! I was going to try various fillers to see which gave the best performance under the 220 grain bullets I have! another buddy has his Winny threaded for a can, so it will be super slick if this works!
Well wandered out to shed and found I was using 15.5gr H4198 for my plinkers. Normally use Li'l Gun and VV120 for my 147 gr normal loads... 2025 fps +- 15fps and 1990 fps +- 10 (VV120 seems to meter real well for me). I use a pager vibrator on my powder feed to ensure it flows like water. Haven't tried anything heavier than 168 Palma style bullets. So far these powders have performed their duties very well. I save my Acurate#9 for my .357 lever action rifle. 1800 fps with 180 gr Hornady XTP hollow points (max load!!!). Never saw a round turn a big city phone book into confetti so fast... As always YMMV...

I cast .303 bullets and size them for the 7.62x39. They make good subs for the AR. Harder cast is good but don't go too hard or you can get leading just like being too soft. I just run a gas check so no worries.
for 300 blackout, i suggest buying berrys 200-220gr 300blackout plated bullets and going with accurate 1680 powder for subsonics. around 11grains will do ya. for super sonics, i use speer tnt 125gr speer part number #1986 and accurate 1680 or h110. standard small rifle primer
yep these T&B bullets are excellent. 225gr hardcast powdercoated .309.. i am super glad this guy is local-ish to me and i will do business with him as long as he keeps casting LOL. $112/1000 projectiles. i could not believe it!
for 30-30 subsonic i would use 8-10ish grains of trailboss under a 200-220gr pill!! i load subsonic .308 win for my bolt action and i use 13gr TB under a 225gr pill

300blk is fun to shoot... 147gr with either LilGun or VV120 powder @ 1950 to 2025fps.... Berry's 110 gr with 4198 (15.5gr works for me) is super sonic but slow enough not to strip plated jacket. accuracy at 100 yds is great for plinking. The 147gr is more accurate but you need to have a little more weight in the buffer or an adjustable gas block. (I use both). Only difference for me is using small pistol magnum primers for the Berry's loads, work perfect. Heck shooting is plain fun. The sound of ringing steel is a kind of music to my ears... Problem right now is the range has been told to close due to virus... Bummer
Interesting thread. With a pound size bottle of Trailboss weighing only 9 ounces, and with the handling instructions saying not to break the powder donuts I've been wondering how this stuff does running through a powder measure. I use a dipper, but just measure the volume that will just fit uncompressed under the bullet. One of my serious suppressor shooters has a .308 load with a full case of Trailboss under a heavy bullet and he opens the primer hole up a bit and runs Magnum Rifle primers. Makes no more than a Puff sound, and maintains acceptable accuracy to break clays at 200 meters.
