A Marine First Sergeant would be quietly plotting their punishment along with their Platoon Sergeant.

 

Being on the 1'st Sgt's $hitlist at one time ,, I can concur on this statement …
Just for shits and giggles ,, as old jarheads do ,, did ,,, to break the monotony ,, and to push the limits ,,, while stationed on Camp Geiger , NC . back in the 80's , Our squad ,, at the direction of our Squad leader ,, , we took off on a mid day motivational run around the base singing the army's " Be all you can be " slogan around base ,,,, it was amazing at how many 1'st shirts , Gunny's , CO's , and XO's , ended up outside their barracks offices , to see who was screaming that blasphemous chant on a Marine Corps Base ,,, back then , it was really a small base , and with all of the attention we attracted , at almost every corner , , we veered off into the woods ,, split up , and returned to our barracks in small numbers ,, avoiding the wrath of our non comedical superiors . These are memories that last forever ,,

 

Geiger in the '60s, wonderful time.

 

Same construction aboard Camp Geiger and Camp Johnson. Overhead steam pipes and every company street laid out with a row of barracks with a head at the end of the street.

I remember seeing Marines at the Engineer School hustling down the street in shower shoes and a towel, carrying their shaving kit... in the snow.



The Company Streets I remember on Camp Johnson are still there and occupied by the SNCO academy. They've removed most of the overhead steam pipes and only remnants remain.



They even made the head at I used to shower in after P.T. into a National Historic Site. At first it made me feel old. Now it just makes me laugh!

Did anyone actually say that (post #23408)? And there is one attributed to the Swiss Minister of Defense talking to Fat Herman, when they were discussing the Swiss army.
