Not mine but wife's I tell her they taste good but hard to clean,Shes not amused?

 

We frequently had them fly over very close to our hilltop home. It was really cool to be able to talk to the folks as they floated silently past.

 

Easy day.

 

Hog under my new IR illuminater with wireless camera. 175 yards from my front porch. The woods are full of them.

 

Good eating right there!

I know it says picture of the day but here’s another. This is an experimental repair circa 2005? 69 KV pole. It’s an epoxy compound with a fiberglass sleeve surrounding it. I recall doing about 3 or 4 of these. Still holding. Good thing because my Mom is nearby it now in assisted living. Poor Mom.

 

I have a similar gas lamp with izing glass (Micah) to delicate to try and restore.

Not sure which one it is but its really purty... which probably means it will melt yer insides into goo if you so much as lick it... got a new mushroom book so hopefully can id some of these mushrooms I keep seeing on our walks. Only ones I'm currently sure of for eating are the chanterelles and last year I found some horse mushrooms (and they've now plowed that field so no chance of getting them again here)

Looks like 1960 if you delete the cars. Hardware store across the street has ladders on rails along the walls to access stuff up high. They have a two story high ceiling. Creaking wood floors and nails by the pound in brown paper bags.
The smell of fertilizer hits you the second you walk in. Clings to you for thirty minutes after you leave too.
