kindle or kobo reader or even a PC with the proper viewing software... $1.99 "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"... by Heinlein a very good read IMHO... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CWGBZ4R/?tag=survivalmonke-20
Some consider this one one of his better works... from the page... Widely acknowledged as one of Robert A. Heinlein's greatest works, The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress rose from the golden age of science fiction to become an undisputed classic—and a touchstone for the philosophy of personal responsibility and political freedom. A revolution on a lunar penal colony—aided by a self-aware supercomputer—provides the framework for a story of a diverse group of men and women grappling with the ever-changing definitions of humanity, technology, and free will—themes that resonate just as strongly today as they did when the novel was first published. The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress gives readers an extraordinary, thought-provoking glimpse into the mind of Robert A. Heinlein, who, even now, “shows us where the future is” (Tom Clancy).
One of my favorites! I also have the book and it has been a while since I read it. I sort of go through Heinlein phases at times and will reread a bunch of his books ignoring everyone else...
I also am a Hugh fan of Heinlein. Don't have all of his work, but real close. If you like talking books, there is an excellent unabridged verion of" The Moon Is A Harsh. Mistress", in two parts, on YouTube. With the right program, you can download straight to your computer or phone. Have collect about 20 or so of Heinlein's talking books that way.
" I did not take part. I was not dissatisfied back when we were “ground under Iron Heel of Authority.” I cheated Authority and rest of time didn’t think about it. Didn’t think about getting rid of Authority—impossible. Go own way, mind own business, not be bothered—"
Robert Heinlein is one of my favorite authors, and characters like Hugh Farnham, Lazarus Long and Valentine Michael Smith feel like my extended family. Moon is a Harsh Mistress was as interesting as a cultural and political study as an action novel. Heinlein was a master at combining political science with amazingly exciting future fiction.
