It is Saturday afternoon, and we invited guests for a Steak Dinner, and a DVD Movie... Problem... The Flatscreen Display is sitting on the floor, against the wall, in the back bedroom, and the articulating Wall Mount is still in the Amazon Box, on top of the bunkbeds.... AlaskaChick and I decided that we needed to fix the situation, before the guests arrived at 5Pm.. I had purchased the Wall Mount, early this spring, before my foot issue, but that interrupted every plan we had for this summer... So today was “Get the Old Westinghouse Flatscreen” Mounted on the wall, and hooked up to the DVD Player, for tonite... I had grabbed some 6” 5/16 Bolts, nuts, and washers, to Thru-bolt the mount thru the. wall, and sandwich it between the plywood of the living-room wall, the wall studs, and the bedroom wall Plywood. using 2 each, plained 1x4” planks, screwnailed into the double stud Door framing on both sides of the area. After drilling two 3/8” holes that fit the WallMount, I found out that I needed longer bolts, like 1 1/2 “ longer... So, quick trip back down to the Cannery to exchange the bolts for longer ones. They only had the longer bolts in 3/8th “ so that is what I got, and back up to the Blue Cabin... Well come to find out I then had to re-drill the Wall Mount holes for the bigger Bolts... Out to the shop, and find the Drill Index and re-drill the mounting holes.. One step forward, two steps back... Got Momma to hold the Bolt heads, while I tightened up the nuts and washers on the Thru-Bolts, to mount the swing-arm and wall-plate... Then we drug out the old flatscreen, and mounted the Mounting Plate to the Universal Mounting Screw-Holes, on the back, and lifted it on to the swing-arm, and Tightened up all the Allen Wrench Bolts, once AlaskaChick had everything, level, and adjusted, just so, put the final torque on the leveling bolts, and then the cleanup and put all the tools back in their appropriate resting places, and sweeping up the mess we made on the floor... This is the final result... Not bad for a couple of Hippies, with no carpentry skills what so ever...
Not bad at all. Still I have to observe that there should be a doorstop, or something -----. What movie?
Oh! Oh! Oh! Kingdom of Heaven is one of my favorites! Yeah, I am a sucker for a good guy with good morals. Like if that even exists anymore but I can have my sweet fantasy...LOL! Never heard of Second-hand Lions and will have to look it up. EDIT: Going to pull out Kingdom of Heaven and watch it...for the umpteen time.
2nd hand lions was a fun movie... kingdom of heaven was good too but parts of it bothered me... as in most Hollywood movies there is a certain amount of deception or or as they call it... artistic license within the movie... which is a nicer way of saying they kinda sorta lied... for entertainment purposes... although it was fairly truthful in many aspects... but I found there seemed to be a bit of a slant... bothersome... oh well just my opinion...
