I saw a tweet earlier. Some guy said for people to wait to get gas because the lines were 6-7 cars long. I laughed because I think that fella thought the lines were going to get shorter the closer the storm got.
Already have gas in my truck . However I made a prepper mistake by not having D cell batteries! Duh. Been to 7 places looking for them. Have every size but D cell. Ok,you guys can flame me later on my mistake. LOL.
I have been converting all my single use batteries to rechargeable and D cells were the impetus. Never could remember to replace that one size.
Just got out of Academy and Doller Tree. Found D batteries! Things are still calm here. Except Wal mart, that place is an insane asylum!
Ya'll stay safe down there , stay above the water line . I heard a comedian a few years ago saying they needed to name these hurricanes after our politicians because of all the destruction they both can leave behind . It looks like they may have started doing that with this one , they named it Barry ,, right after obammy. If they name the next one Clinton , better hunker down good cause it'll be a doozy ..
this is not the first hurricane or storm in that area, so I would think people would have gas cans from the previous storm. I have gas cans I keep them when they’re empty I filled them back up. This gas can shortage is quite perplexing.
We are in a disposable society, no surprise to me. Makes no sense, I agree. I'd essay a guess that the landfill has a few.

Thanks I appreciate the offer and I figure we will be far away from any emergence needs as they were our third tier level of support. But it is a good example of how weak the supply chain is.
The most important thing to walk away from this event, is a list of lessons learned. What do you need more of, what did you run out of, what did you completely forget about. These life events are minor compared to TSHF..... plan now and fix your issues...
