How are the locals? Have they been friendly? Looks like you are seeing all the sites.

 

The history over there is amazing , I saw some stuff in Israel back in the 80's that I didn't have the respect for then , that I would have now . But that's what you get when you've spent 6 months under the gun , and then get cut loose in another country with cold beer , and women a week later . To this day , there's about 18 hours spent in that country that I don't think we could get away with today . But in Rota , Spain ,, they wouldn't let us off base ,,, because of terrorist threats ,,,,,Enjoy your trip Bishop ,,, I've thought often of going back to that side of the world,,, but ,,, It would really feel weird without a 16 slung over my shoulder , and about 300 rounds and a couple of frags . Sorry brother ,, just reminiscing a little ,, If you get to the 'Root , there's supposed to be a memorial for our fallen over there ,,, would love to see that one day.

 

Most of the people are very helpful the army in Rome are set up to fight terrorist in the streets and are friendly but still alert foods good but it helps to seek it out the traffic is very aggressive to the point of being crazy just because there is a lane don't mean they use them but also like any where there are pick pockets and scammers don't leave anything laying around or out in the open.

Yes lots of history where the oldest stuff we have here in the states are a few hundred years over there is be fore Christ birth.

Most are very friendly and helpful full.

 

In my travels the guards with guns were interesting. Considering the citizens were unarmed. If you're into material possessions the U.S. has every country whupped. At least for the average person.
