oh, now i know and knowing is half the battle... thanks QuigleySharps i have never even held one before but they look fierce. i know the greek forces use them.
Those are very nice -- great paint on the STG58! I hope the "mini" uses light loads... it looks like a fun one to shoot, but I'd want thick wrists. It's a beautiful day to go shooting, but I've got school-work :^( I got out of college 25-something years ago, and still get my time eaten.
Those are sweet and I'm sure the vert grip is a must, Quig you bringing the pistols to the valley next time you come
Randy is a great guy and a hell of a FAL smith! He has do a ton of work for me and I have always been satisfied.
My G1. This is my absolute favorite FAL. The Williams Aluma Bomb receiver has been replace with an Entreprise G1 marked receiver. This is my latest build.I have since painted the receiver. It is a Rhodesian R1 clone. The camo is correct for the R1. Note the barrel is left in the white.
I am no expert, but it appears to be a great unit to me, given all the extras loaded on it. FAL people are very picky about the receiver manufacturer so that may be why no one else bid. Ask some questions on FALFiles forum and you'll get some very educated opinions.
DCI made a decent receiver so you did well there. Any Para around $1K is decent buying. Seacowboys, the FAL Para uses a different bolt carrier, top cover and dual springs. The springs actually ride ABOVE the bolt carrier under the top cover. Andy
Kinda figured it would be something like that but I still wonder if they are as reliable as the standard operation ?
I had some trouble with the FFL dealer I was dealing with on my end. I found another and he called and the rifle is waiting for me when I get home. I'll let y'all know how it shoots. Hey Andy, where you been mate? Good to see you.
...every bit as reliable as the origianl design mate. I am around, just not enough hours in the day it seems. Andy
Here's a pic of me on guard on an SBA in Cyprus anno 1990. I'm posting this as I just ordered a new production run L1A1 from Luxdeftec, I have wanted a .308 win battle riffle for ages and wasn't really keen on the G3 clones that are on sale over here (Germany). So now all I have to do is wait for them to come in, the dealer is a shooting buddy and a mate so I'll get his nice discount too. I'll post pictures as soon as I get it with a range report. Tony
