I think the operative word may be pushback. I really can't see things staying the way they are. Salem may want to start thinking about the term "Unintended Consequences". We the People are pretty kind, patient and tolerant; qualities that the left apparently doesn't have. But we have limits and they've been exceeded regularly. I think the only reasons things haven't turned violent yet is because nobody wants to fire the first shot and we're waiting for the President to declassify the documents that will destroy the democrat party. If not, welcome to the revolution.
And don't forget PERS, the public Employees Retirement funds fiasco! Basically the state rammed negotiations into a corner against all the public employee unions basically promising a 15% increase in benefits in trade for the same in wages, basically the state wanted to trade money they did not have NOW, for money they promised they would have LATER on! Now the employees are retiring, and the state has stolen all that money to use for what ever short falls in budgets they have, and PERS is a freakin mess! The Dems see the PERS fund as a golden egg to tap into when ever they want large sums of moneys to steal, with out paying it back, and the employees who got screwed by the state in the contract negotiations had to suffer with NO wage increased, some like my mom for more then 20 years, and now that the fund is due, there isn't enough to go around for what was promised! Mom has one hell of a law suit going against the state, brought by a large group of retirees, and they are going to tear Salem to shreds, If she lives long enough to see it through! BTW, OryGun has an Instant Back Ground Check system, all computerized You enter all your info electronically with out putting pin to paper on an actual 4473 form, hit send when done, and about 5 seconds later, I get a Proceed! Had it take 8 seconds once as the longest, and the shortest was as soon as the finger released pressure on the enter button!
Good luck to your Mom (and give her my wishes for a Happy Mother's Day!) and hope she cleans them out. PERS may be why they are pushing for all the tax increases, aside from the usual soft (soon to be hard) tyranny of BIG GOVERNMENT. Don't forget the $1,000,000,000 wasted on plans for a bridge that wasn't needed and never got built and a website that never worked. I've never anything longer than a few moments on a BGC either, but that electronic system could change at any time, and I wouldn't discount Bloody Kate from doing anything to punish gun owners or any political opponent.
Well, my go to gun shop is an old family owned gun & tackle store. Got the coolers and the bait and he can tell ya' what's bitin' and where, rewind your reel or whatever. Got some guns on the wall and a handful of pistols in a case and a moderate supply of ammo. In other words, it's still America there.
My kind of shop! The Little town I grew up in has a Shop like that, a combo hardware, lumber, feed, farm supply, guns, tackle, and parts, all in one! Still the same family owns it, and they still do every thing the old way! When ever I travel through, I always make it a point to stop in and buy stuff, just for the nostalgia, and I can get a real soda, a box of shells, word on where the fish are bittin, and a hand shake with my receipt! God Bless America!
Want a real treat? Go to Fields, Oregon where the restaurant, post office, liquor store, general store, gas station and mechanic is all one building! Best damn burger almost anywhere, and all the food is good as well. Real casual, too,if you run out of coffee you can just grab the pot and get it yourself. They have a couple of cabins, but if you have a large group you can rent the old bordello from days gone by next door. Great place to get cleaned up a bit after camping out in the Alvord!
Love that place, Stop there all the time, Even landed there several times, taxied right up to the pumps and the kid came right out and helped me fuel up! Brothers on Highway 20 is another one just like it, best shakes in the eastern state, and if your hankerin for a rattlin snek burger, that's the place to try one!
Been to Brothers many times, and every time I'm on my way to Fields from AntiFaland. Forgot to mention Denio, south of Fields just on the other side of the Nevada border. Bar, restaurant, and store all in one building there as well. Used to camp at Bogg Hot Springs and then go there once in a while. Had many a good evening BSing with opal miners andbird hunters.
Another one is French Glen, I have camped there several times! Love these little day trips in the plane, really enjoy exploring all these neat-0 little "Stops" along the way! My absolute fav is to go flying around the Steens Mountains! Man, that's some seriously beautiful country, and there are so few roads, and NO PEOPLE! Planning a trip down around Mt. Lassen for later this spring, should be a great weekend!
I also really want to explore the western side more, even up to the Olympics for some camping and fishing! Took a motorcycle trip up there years ago and wanted to go back some time and really explore!
Sounds awesome! I really love that country and have spent much time exploring and looking for old mines and evidence of Indians. Southeast of Bogg you will find a mountain that has an agate formation larger than a house at the top that miners uncovered I believe looking for silver. There is a rough road at the base that will take you past a small abandoned miner village of houses made from agate! Just a bit further up the road an entrance to a very large mine my bussies and I were never able to fully explore. Anyway, that agate would look pretty cool from the air!

Records lost? Records published online by Antifa?
Very good question,I have no answers! O.S.P. has been caught lying about keeping records and a "Registry" at least twice, and our sitting Gov'nes who emergency actioned it into law through Ex.order in direct voilation of the firearms owners protection law, so who knows what is out there and how well protected it is! That and the State spend MIllions trying to make a failed Computer system work ( Obamma Care signup) which has cost us Millions!
Thanks for the response. Not very comforting. Antique arms and private sales must bring premium prices.
They have pretty much crushed Private Sales, and killed the C&R collecting! Even on Non Serialized stuff, it's getting stupid difficult!
I don't mean to derail this thread, but living in a free State, I'm curious about these gun laws that seem to be unique to Oregon. Has there been any fight to end the law that says Oregon residents may only purchase long guns out-of-State if it's in a neighboring (contiguous) State? I know we won't sell guns to anybody with an Oregon license, but I'd never looked at how it was worded. Do they still allow traffic on I-5 and I-84 to go both ways? Might be time to get out before they change that too.
The gun shop called yesterday and said I got an approval number, so I'll head to town tomorrow morning to pick up the guns. Doesn't matter, it's still bs.
