If you can make it to one of the Casinos they will offer you a drink! Good on you. Reminds me of last winter when we had the freeze up and making coffee on the tail gate of the truck. Or last night when all the flooding was being reported. I ask DW, so now what do you think about living on a big rock on the highest spot in the County?
Mini shtfs do have a way of making converts. Years ago, when we lived in the forest, DH used to complain about my grocery spending and having multiple pantries full of foods. Then, one winter, we were snowed in for 2 months with barely an inconvenience. Never had a complaint since. ;-) Glad you're safe and prepped.
Well believe it or not the trees have been removed from our road. I guess it helps to be friends with the road supervisor,I got him out of a bind one time now it’s pay back time. Happy days
Kind of like getting mugged or raped will turn an anti-gun democrat into a pro-gun republican. Reality has a tough way of altering your perspective. Good job!! Kajun
Finally got my water back on about fifteen minutes ago. The only thing we missed was the shower. It’s probably going to be Monday before we have electricity back on,maybe sooner I hope. My small Honda 2200 generator uses about two gallons of gasoline ever fourteen hours. My large Titan 7500 diesel generator uses about ten gallons of diesel every twenty four hours. Boy that Honda 2200 gen is sure a work horse. The Honda takes care of all the lights, two TV sets and one refrigerator by it’s self running at a high idle. Things like the coffee pot and the microwave are high power consumers
Electricity is still off,Energy came by yesterday and said they would have to get a tracked vehicle to fix our downed line were it crosses the creek. My old diesel gen guit this morning, but I still have the Honda running the whole house. Water is back on,so I’m in good shape with everything I need. The ground is very wet so we do not need anymore wind of any kind, please. We need sun for awhile to dry things out
Ditto. Flooded roads here. I'll bet the monied folks will vote for that new bridge to replace the ford now. I did, to no avail last year.
Might wanna get that Evinrude outta the barrel and on the pirogue .............just in case it really rains!
Our mountain is mostly bedrock and good ol' Oregon clay. In a heavy rain, water flows out of the hillside itself in streams. Then it flows downhill into the creek, attempting to wash us away in the process.
