I remember shooting them , and the one that had the longest string of shot caps hanging out of the gun was the coolest one.

How about the speed loader caps in the plastic ring?

  6. How many times did you wear them to grade school? Steve McQueen was WAY COOL popular. Once bro and I got plastic "mare's leg" cap guns. Reason I don't got any cap guns now is we wore 'em out. The we went too corn cob pistols. Bang, Bang, Bang. Ya' know I don't remember anybody being bad guys though.

Yep, I had one too. Lots of fun on Saturday, watching the TV Cowboys, helping them shoot the "bad guys and injuns". :D

Yeah, and our toy revolvers had real leather holsters too!

Yep, but the cap pistols available now have cheap plastic holsters. Typical Chinese crap. Another memory of our past now tarnished with modern mediocrity.

Cap guns are part of childhood IMO. My boys loved them. One can still get the gun and roll caps at Bootbarn or Western stores.

I used to make bow and arrows out of sticks and limbs. Used the old kite sticks a few times. You couldn't get a lot af range with them but you could make a pretty sharp arrow out of those lightweight sticks. Some where between 8-10 years old , I was entrusted with one of those daisy one cock BB guns. That was the ultimate weapon to learn elevation and windage with. Made some pretty amazing shots with that thing. I shot at and killed a little sparrow at an unbelievable distance one time . That taught me a lesson about respect for life and firearms. That was my first kill , and a wasted life. Years later I bought an ex girlfriends son a BB gun. Saw him shoot at a bird one time. Told him if he killed anything , I was going to make him clean it and eat it. As far as I know , he never shot at anything else that was alive. The kid wouldn't eat anything meat , so I know he didn't want to start out with a little bird.

I started reLoading at age 21, when I got my first Centerfire Weapon... My. winchester Model 94 SaddleRing Carbine... I bought a Hand Loading Lee Setup, and carried 100 Projectiles, a Pound of IMR4895, and a hundred Large Rifle Primers, while living in the North Cascades... I had a Copper Tube that I used as a Powder Measurer, similar to what I used with my BP Weapons... Worked pretty good, mostly, and I could replace a dozen Fired Rounds in an evening, sitting around the campfire...

Mine were all die cast, but looked pretty realistic. I got pretty good with a Daisy 118, and later a Crosman 760, but the Daisy Cub was my favorite. Fast enough to make practice fun and not so powerful that you had to worry about skipping one off the barn and breaking a window. I mastered hip and point shooting on moving targets with the cub.
Being able to see the BB in flight made the learning really fun. ;)

I was over 50 before I got a new Red Ryder and a mid 1930's Daisy Model 25 pump.
