So as the bear is dropping its scat to mark its area , your inspection of it is it's bait for you !!
I have seen folks not understand the reason of scat drops ..

Now one of my city folk neighbour lets his plum tree drop over ripe fruit and the bear has been in there.
He thought his dog was pooping lots , till he met the bear one night !!
Im sure he had brown pants after that . I had a chat with him about picking fruit if your not going to use it.
