My Dad made his famed "cat head" biscuits, and slathered them in cane syrup - great stuff!! Excellent with just butter too. His frying pan cornbread with cane syrup couldn't be beat either!

Yes, with melted butter and lefse. Might not like the salt etc process for making it, but it stores almost for ever and is a good food source. Lute fisk, flat bread, lefse, dried green beans, potatoes, dried squash, steel cut oats with different meats added, cabbage, carrots, home canned beef, pork and chicken, home made sausage, ham, bacon, etc, were all things my grand parents had in the fall to last all winter.
I had to break out another can that expired in 2013. Still had a nice hiss and bread was perfect and moist. I still eat it the way Dad did, with slabs of butter.
