Actually, pretty interesting reading, spot-on and well written:

But, the 80-year cycle seems to pigeonhole nicely but it's far from fact and is simply a theory, conjecture...Nevertheless, interesting reading and the author certainly writes with flair.

I think @DKR is correct, "I'll enjoy what I can, put some aside for hard times and hope for the best." And, I would add that I think too many of us on this forum, to include myself, get too worked up over things we have no control to change. All these things are happening while we speak and there is nothing we can do to change it. Nothing. Voting is nothing more than a baby's pacifier stuck into the mouths of American voters to keep them quiet and pliable while they are continued to be financially raped, their God given rights abused before being stripped, and their children and the country's treasure given to foreign countries and foreign wars that do not benefit Americans.

I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but they have made sure that 1776 and 1861 cannot and will not be repeated. And, we must accept this because that is all there is and ever will be. It will not change - ever. And, even if it did happen, say a total economic collapse, the chances are we will come out of it even worse than we are now.

So, "I'll enjoy what I can, put some aside for hard times and hope for the best."

The Senate is still controlled by less-than-crazy Socialist loons...for now. I agree the mass media will be in a frenzy pushing for impeachment, but it will go nowhere.

Count on all the Dems running to try and flog Trump for any and everything possible. - but herein lies a tale.

Prior to the last election cycle, a local AM "Talk Radio" (KENI) station had a 10 share locked in, despite being part of the execrable iHeart cabal.

When the election hit, the network oversold commercial airtime - mostly the left-leaning "you'll die if Trump get in" type. People got sick of hearing the schimdt and turned off the radio. Now, nearly two years later, the station only pulls a 1.8 - better than the other stations here in town - they pull a 1.6 to 1.1 rating

Also, CNN rating are past being in the toilet - even the QVC channel and the Cooking Channel pull better audience ratings.

Why? As noted above - People got sick of the schimdt and turned off the media. Cable TV number drop almost weekly as folks switch to steaming services w/o the political BS.

Next time you get that itchy feeling - shut off the damn TV/radio and read a book. Visit a friend or the kiddos. Go for a walk. DC is a giant echo chamber fed by the trolls in mass media - with the pols dwelling there so out of touch with the rest of us, it becomes comical.

The day is coming, hard to say how it will paly out....

 

Yes....the world is going to hell in a hand basket, like it has done for centuries in the past, and as it will do for centuries in the future....in the meantime I'll just indulge myself in some escapist entertainment while I polish my post apocalyptic blunderbuss....far better than worrying myself about what passes for the depressing 'reality' in this thread.

 

There are a lot of kegs of powder laying around in this old world and a lot of idiots with matches. I am not so optimistic.

 

With our partial government shut-down, we do not get many of the government reports. We are only getting private sector figures and many of them are not good. The timing is interesting IMO. How did the government close out 2018? We do not know.

Watched cnn this morning,we are in trouble as a nation. When it comes I hope the military is on Trumps side. Get everything you need now before it’s too late.

 

I hope that America's military will defend the Constitution, rather than the President. The President's batting average in defending the Constitution has been pretty p!$$ poor when it comes to judicial review of his diktat. The military would do well to remain apolitical, and non-partisan. Countries where the military backs the ruling elite, tend to be dictatorships rather than republican democracies....Is that the kind of government, and the kind of military that you would prefer?

Having the backing of the military is no guarantee of presidential security...if the military then changes their allegiance away from the strong man they formerly backed.... Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu are cases in point.

Agreed. Those running the country still believe we are spend our way out of debt. If they thought like normal people they may have more success in getting things correct. When a person is in a financial down-turn, they start to cut costs. I review our family spending and look at where I can save. Even if it is 5 dollars here and ten there, those dollars add up. I do the same thing at work. I look at ever cost and start hacking away. Just two adjustments saved the company a couple thousand dollars a year. I do not believe the government does that. I have not forgot or forgave the omnibus bill that was signed. I think that was when I jumped off the Trump bus. I put my faith in the people of the country, not the President. Most of those folks in DC have not clue how the average American lives. One example: they have probably never had to budget and save for an operation or skimped on groceries so one can purchase medication. The gap between the people and politicians just keeps getting wider.

Ok let me put it another way, a crisis is coming were I hope the military will enforce our constitution. With the democrat party acting stupid, the border crisis,the anti Trump sickness,we are headed for some serious trouble. The democrat party will do anything to further their liberal socialist program,and I mean anything. There will be an attempt to put down the President and Vice President one way or another that will put nancy pelosi and the democrat party in the White House. The democrat party knows good and well that President Trump will be in office for another four years. I don’t know what it will be but the good ole USA is in or a lot of trouble.
