I always enjoy these types of stories...I guess it's the kid in me; nevertheless, I like them and find myself listening to them on YouTube in the evenings. There are some good story tellers on there and you get everything except the warmth of the fireside.
Sometimes I mute the old boob tube and watch these on u-tube,Mostly western outlaws,Pirates and treasure!
Old TR could write and tell of some great stories ....I do enjoy reading his : Ranch life and the Hunting Trail... Hunting trips of a Ranchman.. The Wilderness Hunter...( Where the story in the OP is from ) Outdoor Pastimes of an American Hunter... African Game Trails... Are all worth searching out and reading. Andy
I have heard some first hand stories from people that have had some experience with unknown creatures ,these people are very sober and will not tolerate jesting over it. One reason people have trouble finding them is their stride is very long compared to a human so tracking is very difficult . I understand that there is an area in Alaska they are found but extremely aggressive .A rare few have come out alive from their encounter , As many insects I have found that are not in the books , it does not surprise me there are other creatures that are very intelligent evading our gaze . The fact that more people are venturing in the remote is likely to bring up more of these events .
What's that saying "Truth is stranger than fiction"... Or, perhaps better said, "A wise man knows that he knows nothing at all"... It is the same with the UFOs. A few months back, Fox News had a recently retired Navy pilot, Commander, who, with his wingman, was chasing around a UFO with their F-18s. He saw it, up close and personal, chased it, until it got tired of the game and simply left at an impossible speed. The encounter was completely documented with gun camera and plane and ship radar tracks (on internet) until it went bye-bye. Yeah, we don't known answers to half the questions in the verse...
Last night I took a picture during the day of a plane or something that flew past my house in total silence , I'll up load the picture when I get home . what was extraordinary is that I did not see any wings .
I realize that it must be a plane ,able to enlarge the picture, but there was no sound and I could not at the time see any wings , and I'm accustomed to having planes over head all the time . Another plane had just flown over just the moment before, relatively slow and low, which is what made me look in the first place . there is a red stripe on the side off the fuselage.
As for Bigfoot... I don't know...I kinda doubt it but... The world is a big place and if you know your stuff , its easy to get and stay lost in it. Regarding UFO's / Aliens...I truly hope that we as humans are not the only "intelligent" life out there.... Andy
Don't feel bad. I spent 5 minutes freaking myself out over a luminous circular UFO that zigged and zagged erratically around a stationary point one afternoon. It was a tangled up spiderweb about 25' up. The web was in the setting sun's light but I was already in shadow so it appeared to glow.
I believe in bigfoot. Heard one years ago when we were back East. I will never forget that night. Bigfoot is real.
To clear up and potential misunderstanding with my "Kinda doubt it" regarding Bigfoot..... It just means that I haven't seen , heard or experienced anything that makes me for sure about him.... I however will not judge or outright dismiss the experiences of others. ( Excluding the "experiences" on the cover of The National Enquirer.... ) Far too reliable many folks have seen , heard or experienced something , that all have a common thread or a ring of truth , for me just to write off.... I only ever heard one sound in the woods I couldn't I.D.. Asked the guy hunting with me if he knew what it was. He said "no, and that was why I'm leaving". Cedar Co. Iowa. Rural area, farms every half mile.
Never seen or heard El-bigfoot-O,Did see and pepper a Black Panther on the bank of the Sabine River,Big son-of-a-gun too !!!
Back when I were a kid we had something called a boar drum,I think that’s the name. It was a hollow log cut off we’re you had a piece about 24 inch’s long which was then covered with wet cow hide. You put a piece of rope in a hole in the center of one hide and tied a know were it would not pull out. After the hide dryer tight you would put pine rosin on the rope so when you pulled it would make a load roar. A bunch of boys would take it out in the woods,pull on the rope and watch he lights come on. The next day everybody would be talking about the panther that was prowling the countryside. I don’t know if I named it right ,maybe somebody knows the real name. Andy you come to mind as being the one who knows. It’s been over 70 yrs,I think I’m going to build another one. The headlines now “a whole family of bigfeet in north La.”
