Hopefully this makes sense. I see a ship in the harbor that looks enormous. When I drive to the bluff to get a better look it then appears much much smaller even though I’m much closer. There’s a small elevation drop but nothing major. The initial view is always partially obstructed by buildings and homes which I suspect is part of the illusion. I’ve shown other people this and it’s usually followed by WTF?!?! Lol.
It's probably temperature inversion but I'm half drunk so...perfect scenario for it, sea, land and land is elevated...
^^^^Yes. I can read the letters on the ship clearly from the start. Get to the bluff and I holler “WTF?!” They are too small to read. It’s amazing!!!!!! Lol.
I suspect its like the sun and moon when they're rising or setting, When they're high in the sky or in the ships case out on ocean, there's not much to gauge them to and they look smaller
The ship is moving, Meat. It is farther away and downhill. Quit running your friends up and down the hill sloping away from your house and the sea.
No drugs or alcohol needed for this crazy illusion. I’m going to try and get some pics in the near future. Nobody doubts me and gets away with it.
Well the same illusion happened one day with an aircraft carrier. I was like “Wtf?! That’s the biggest aircraft carrier ever!” When I drove to the bluff I said WTF happened?! It looks like a toy ship now!!!” This is really cool.
I wish I had some bluffs to climb up on to see this sort of thing. Best I can do is climb a tree of go up on a widows walk. Sometimes being a flat lander sucks, unless you're on a bicycle.
You jerks are going to force me to drive a couple hours to prove this. I could make a phone call or two but we all know when you want a job right what one does.
