I don't respond to "theoretical danger" while carrying or when not carrying. As a free man I am able to think for myself and having the responsibility to train accordingly.

That type of statement is bat shit crazy in my humble opinion. But I see you point, it could happen since I don't normally respond to trolls either.................

 

That relieves me, and most likely others, enormously. And yet some folk, with neither wit, nor training, nor adequate self discipline, keep firearms without much concern for the safety, or well being of other household residents...or even themselves, (given the number of self inflicted wounds by dumb@$$ gun owners) in the vague belief that the gun will magically protect them, some time, in the indeterminate future, from some unknown and unidentifiable threat.

There are many free men (and women) whose cognitive functioning is evidently not up to par with your good self, and there are many who assume little to no responsibility for the safe ownership of the firearm that they feel that they just must have. I am not saying that folk should not own firearms at all, nor that they should be denied the means of defending themselves...I just point out that often that there are real risks and costs to those in the household, who don't own the firearm in question, that perhaps in many cases outweigh the risk probability of the weapon actually being needed by the owner to defend themself.

 

Chell, there are a lot of folks that shouldn't vote, drive cars, educate children or be in Congress, but they are. Those that only pick on gun owners seem to me to be a bit afraid of them in their quest for control. Do gun owners do stupid things, yup, just like drivers, Congresscritters and teachers and I dare say that Congress kills more people in one year than gun owners do in 20.

 

Gov statistics say -

Guns are not the only things that kill. Seems doctors are worse than guns. .I'm keeping my on the damn toaster as well- it looks sketchy as hell.....

 

^^^^^^^ We have one of those high capacity toasters here. Guess I need to put it in the gun safe and lay the shotgun out on the counter. Safety first!

 

I don't see ignorance on that list, kills way more than anything else I can think of!
