Seein's how ya brought up the Judge,,,,does anyone know if you can get a shoulder holster for one . I don't have the ass I used to have , so I have to keep tuggin' up on my britches with my belt carry , or I look like one of them citified sidewalk crack back cretins.
I had one shop tell me they didn't make one , but I find that hard to believe. I just haven't followed up on it .

I was an active and popular member of another well known Internet forum until a minor disagreement with a moderator (that took place entirely via private messages and was never seen in public) got me a 30 day "ban". I never came back after my "ban" and that was many years ago. That's when I found Survival Monkey and I've been here ever since.

It was right after this incident that I registered a domain and started my own blog. I can say whatever I want and be accountable to no one, and I don't have to dance around anyone's sensibilities. It felt liberating. They say success is the best revenge; my blog has over 5000 visitors per month and is frequently quoted and linked to by others. Getting banned from that forum was the trigger I needed to wing it on my own and find my voice.

I occasionally lurk the old forum as nonmember and I almost feel pity for what it has become. Back in the day they had over 50,000 "registered" members and 12,000 "active" members. Now they have over 100,000 "registered" members but only 3000 "active" members. That means 97% of their users exist only in a database and for whatever the reason never show up. I am part of that 97%.

One thing I've learned about Internet forums is that I'm just one member and they don't need me. But it's a two way street: I don't need them either. When 2/3 of your active users drop out, and only 3% of all registered users participate, you have to start thinking that maybe the members are not the problem.

I run hot and cold with Survival Monkey. I have some misgivings, but overall it's been a good experience here. I don't post as often as I used to due to the forums being clogged with topics that are not survival related, or only loosely survival related, but I'll comment when I have something relevant to contribute.

If you cannot find your place, then go create your own place. It does take some effort and time to write content and attract a following, but the personal satisfaction cannot be calculated.

I try to be prepared even though I don't consider myself a prepper. My posts are mostly about family, food and nature. And I have not been banned here. Maybe not yet.

@Grandpa Patch, welcome back. I've been on lots of boards on and off, but survivalmonkey is home. Plenty of differences of opinion here on some subjects, but they're usually posted in a thoughtful and polite manner. I've learned to take a breather while considering others opinions, and I've learned much about how not to be offensive in on-line conversations. The bouncers here seem to be very reasonable, and don't hold a grudge.

Now I have to go see about trolling the Mulititool forum. [dancindevil]

Gator, They have these things now called suspenders. Another solution is called overalls. Either way, when you have these straps over your shoulders you pants never fall down by accident. I thought you were a knowledgeable Cajun??? WorkingMansStore.com for well priced Overalls, Amazon for inexpensive Suspenders.
    .
Gator, sorry I quoted the wrong person. @SB21 the response above was aimed your way. No malice intended, just a suggested solution.

I really liked this part of your post. It is always nice to know that people are using the resource area. It really is a great tool that often gets overlooked. Happy for you that your wife is getting into the mindset. I read often that only one in the marriage is into preparation and experienced that myself. Welcome back @Grandpa Patch.

I wish them luck. I have a feeling that @Bishop is storming their forum also.

I wear reigns for suspenders , I got way too much stuff in my pockets and on my belt.
Regular suspenders don't last on me .
I love this site and the people in it , well most of them , ok, well, ya, most of them.
I have 3 other boards I visit and with in them all are the spread of opinions ,it's normal.
Another site very similar to this one is the bushcraft usa forum . these guys taught me how to bow drill fire. that's a real good skill there.
Much the same as here most are pretty strait and good people.
