When I drove trucks I remember how I would look at drivers going across the lot at truck stops and I could see the stress and strain of their job/life on their face. It was much worse for those who thought buying a truck would make them more money and make their life better.
Now when I go to the store or drive in traffic i sense and see a certain anger and stress with many people. This reminds me of what my dad told me about what people are like when they are starving.
If and when we ever have an SHTF event I really worry about the way people would be.

I recall, back when I was hauling freight, as well. I cannot count the numbers of drivers whom I met, that hated their driving jobs. Most of them only drove, because they lived in small rural, country towns that had little to no major local industry. So, their options were to either drive, or move to a larger city to find a job. Personally, I enjoyed driving, very much. Liquid tankers were my preferred trailers to pull.

I can only imagine how all those drivers will act, if / when their world falls apart around them. They will become MZB's, trying to claw their way to continued survival.

Of course you could have just explained that when she gets to the front of the queue, she will be taking the gas of the guy who is queued 6 cars behind her...."what a cheek, taking the gas of the guy six cars behind her...and...I'll cheer the guy behind her on, when he kicks her butt for taking his gas!!!"......but I doubt that she'd have the smarts to figure out the irony of it. :ROFLMAO:

    Was this the woman?

I hated living in hurricane prone areas, mainly because of other people.

I have a diesel, a gasoline and an electric vehicle.
If I can't get gasoline, its only a minor inconvenience. This is by design.
My diesel truck and gasoline car stay full of fuel. I run them down to about 3/4 of a tank and fill them back up every 2 to 4 weeks.
The diesel needs fuel maybe once a year.

If you didn't grow up dealing with strangers, angry strangers, and strangers who just don't like the way you look, now's the time to practice dealing with people. Watch them, be aware of your surroundings, learn to make eye contact and acknowledge them, at least with a quick nod of the head, or "How you doin?" They'll be far less likely to confront you if they see that you recognize them as ... human. You might make a friend.

Somebody in another car flips you the bird or shakes a fist at you, smile and wave back with four fingers... with your thumb tucked in. I don't know how this works, but it does work. Maybe something in the base of the human brain that tells them that without a thumb, you are not a threat. I've been doing it for years and it calms raging drivers right down.

Your appearance and bearing will change the way people perceive you. If you're dressed like a mall ninja it's tough to look like a working stiff who's just getting by like they are. They'll want your gear. Same gear carried concealed, and you look like you belong, or are just passing through.

General Mattis said it best: ‘Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.’

I had a good friend that was normal in every other way ,but when he drove, became another person, angry and impatient with every one ahead of him .
I have to wonder how many others share this same characteristic?
Some folk have a coping mechanism that some times is a Jeckle and Hyde, you definitely want him your friend and not a stranger .
As a friend he could give you the shirt off his back, even forgive your mistakes ,what friends do .
And if your a stranger and cross him ,he knew 100 ways to make your life miserable . fact, no boast.
I have made acquaintance with people that I do not necessarily want my kids associating with, simply because if they respect you they respect your values . if they don't respect you the association is severed .
If I can be a positive influence in this relationship association has potential .
If their influence shows a potential dangerous influence to my kids, I can't have them around.
My dad practiced this and from my prospective it was effective .
Dad and I communicated very well ,I think better than most kids I knew growing up.
It was not unusual for us to have people stay in our home that needed help. I learned volumes .

Not that it matters but that's somewhere where they drive in the left hand lane. My guess is she was pharmacologically enhanced or deficient
