Sheep, Goats and Sheep Dogs? Most of us know about sheep and sheep dogs, but I propose a third category. That I like to call Goats. A goat is an individual who is pretty much the opposite of a sheep dog. They cause unrest through fear, misinformation, social media, and mass communications. In short they are part of the reason we have so many sheep and so few sheep dogs. Pretty much an allegory of the parable of the sheep and the goats. The sheep can go the the right due to the lack of malice in their thoughts and under the guard of the sheep Dogs, while the goats will head to the left as a result of their active deceit of the people of our country... By this I don't mean necessarily individuals who may be classified as liberals and conservatives, but by those who divide our country by personal agendas as well as extreme views capitalizing on the exception instead of the mean... YMMV Any thoughts?
And, I thought it was a comment on society. Shows you where my head is! Had a buddy who had goats. He heard one screaming in the middle of the night and went out of investigate, thinking a coyote had gotten into the fenced area. He discovered that the goat had gotten onto the top of the goat house (somehow) and in leaping to get to some green acorns in an oak tree, got its head stuck in the fork of a branch and was hanging there, six feet off the ground.
Goats? Why do we need a new classification? We have donkeys that seem to do the same thing described.
Don't know what you call the mutant sheep we have around here in New Hampshire. A lot of them have got into this new age sort of thing, God given right to free food, clothing, education, health care, art and culture, etc, we need to allow the poor from the whole world to come here as we have so much and they have nothing and we could do it if it weren't for the nasty federal government, we have to protect the environment, stop development, stop climate change, stop growth, get rid of guns, accept all races, gender benders, etc, and due to their "abuse" in the past they now are supposed to have special rights. The "N" word will get you banned for life, owning a gun should be a crime, looking at them wrong will get you into trouble, but rioting by the left, protests, mob rule, and burning down stores is OK. We are as a culture and a nation in trouble when people running for local, state and federal offices, up to and including the president, use as their campaign slogan, "We can't afford to pay for our health care, education, etc, and if I am elected I will get someone else to pay for your needs". Never any hint of where the new money is coming from other than as a nation we can afford it. In some areas, in the states and in the nation, they are now the dominate number in the flock and now want to choose the sheep dog, the pasture, keep their wool, etc, and will resist violently anyone who wishes to "limit" their desires and actions and use the law to encode their desires and prevent anyone who disagrees with them from doing so. They take no prisoners and use ever technique to control the schools, churches, media, etc, and enforce the assimilation of the next generation into their mind set, a sort of cultural "BORG", and they are winning.
I am an old goat, so I have been called...but only once and it got retracted with a sincere apology once the sticthes were removed.
What kind? Reminds me. I was a cocky little guy when I was a young teen. I was mad at my dad over something stupid, I'm pretty sure it was. I told my dad I was going to hit him in his stomach. He let me. It was like I hit a (poured solid) concrete wall. I never tried that again. Never even thought about doing it again. He was a solid, powerful man, until the day he died.
A wise Uncle once told me that you cannot keep one goat. They are gregarious creatures and must have social contact with other goats. Seems to fit your use of the word.
