1 - This is the evolutionary formula for making a universe:
Nothing + nothing = two elements + time = 92 natural elements + time = all physical laws and a completely structured universe of galaxies, systems, stars, planets, and moons orbiting in perfect balance and order.

2 - This is the evolutionary formula for making life:
Dirt + water + time = living creatures

I'm sorry to hear that CRC. Mr. Wizard was one of my favorites. My brother and I watch every episode faithfully. By today's TV standards I'm sure he would be considered pretty prosaic but we sure learned a lot - the first thing being the love of learning that seems to be missing today.

    Mine too....

We didn't have a television growing up...My father said people would stop reading...and refused to cave..(Not sure if he was right, but we all read and still read today)
Finally , when no one would babysit us because we didn't have one...he gave in...But our viewing time was really really limited!
Mr Wizard was one of the shows we could watch.....

He made learning cool....He was our generation's "Science Guy" ...

Many good memories there....and many lessons learned...

I miss the early days of Survival Monkey forum when the majority of our discussions centered on how to survive when modern conveniences were absent. In the last 2 weeks, there have only been 13 posts regarding "survival." I know that the politics impact our day to day lives, but I look for other discussions as well. Just my $.02

I guess I've had similar thoughts. All the same, the politics and potential disasters to our way of life might just prompt thinking of things to prep for and how to prep. What would be nice would be if we get newbies to reading and thinking about the possible scenarios, then doing preps accordingly. (And spreading the word.) That happens, I figure we did what we could. If some of the things that can happen finally do, and the non sheeple survive it, we stand a chance of recovery with a cadre of enlightened leaders.[booze]

The hard part is avoiding the itch to keep yelping about how the sky is falling. Gets depressing, if not boring, to read about how bad things might be.
