Has anyone ever run a drill?

Here in Cambodia, they have no clue about replanting after cutting trees down to sell for firewood, fence posts, etc. So, I don't know how many "woods" will be left here, if / when SHTF here. Khmers already eat ANYTHING that walks or breathes, including rats, grubs, spiders, frogs, snakes, etc. If they can catch it, they WILL eat it. So, I am also not sure how much hunting will be going on here, either.

The Boss was telling me just the other day, when they first moved to this property, they could catch rabbits to eat regularly, around the land here. I haven't seen a single rabbit since I have been coming to, or living on this property. That was sometime in late 2013.

Perhaps you could convince the Boss Lady to raise a few? In addition raise feed for the rabbits.

Oh, rabbits are on the list to be added to the livestock here, most definitely

Our house is off grid so we sort of live the drill, I try to incorporate preparedness into our every day lives. There are specific scenarios I would like to drill but right now I am constantly working on ways to make our every day life more 'reliable' and self sustainable without making it inconvenient for my family.

Hate to say this but chickens are a better investment .in every way .
Had rabbits ,can't live on them.
Chicken have more advantages and far easier to keep .
I have wild rabbits here, not caged , that are unafraid of me . I feed them for time to time and they feed the predators around here from time to time. takes the pressure of my birds .
I feed the wild birds as well , and they in turn keep the insect population in check.
Hawk, and owl, bobcat , coyote keep the domestic dogs and cat population in check so you have to work with the wild life .

This may be the case. But, if raising them solely for self-sustainability, they would be an additional (READ: a nice change) source of food. As much as I love chicken, I do wish to eat other meals as well.

Yep, for quite a few, actually. We, that is she, has ~5 acres. At the moment, we are only using a portion of it for ducks, chickens and cows.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I have a doe and 3 bucks. All are around 7 months old. The mean ass doe has beat down the bucks in breeding attempts so bad they just shake and hide from her now.

Start with a grown pair. That's my advice.

I hate these stupid ass critters and will start the gladiator games next weekend. All together now. If she castrates a male, I eat him. If she ain't bred and runs out of males, I will beat her head against a tree and eat her too

She wear leather and carry a whip, too? I thought it would be the other way around, 3 does and one buck. :)
