"It depends" on the reason for shooting that day. It it's trap, it's my Citori.

That little Rock Island 200 .38spl has really grown on me and replaced my trusty old Python .357 mag as my carry around the farm weapon. I can take a squirrels head off with it at 20 yards and unlike the Python have more than a couple of feet and toes for the pot and it is a lot easier on the wrist. For out and about carry I still love my Sig 1911 in the small of my back and the Rock Island on the ankle. For a rifle it is a older remington .300WM love its penetration and I can still group shots within 2" of each other at 600 yards. Now don't laugh to hard but my shotgun of choice is a New England Firearms single barrel .20 gauge just a good old dependable breech load that has taken a lot of rabbit, squirrel and quail. With a barrel change to the rifled slug barrel it has been a real good deer gun over the decades. For the scary weapon it is my Golani/Galil Superior to a AR in every way to a AR IMO, except in weight and the sheer number of mods available for ARs. Overall my favorite that gets the most carry time is the Rock Island .38 just a good weapon that might not be purdy but it pushes the lead real good for me.

I shoot all well as they are capable not like a ransom rest but combat groups at combat range and speed on target. Neither am I Jerry Miculek. but if the weapon can do it's part i do an ok job, minute of angle stuff.

If a weapon does not perform it's the shooter more than the weapon or ammo once it has proven itself. I have rarely found a gun that has had problems that could not be "smithed" out.
I have seen a lot of people try to force a firearm to do what it was not engineered for and that fails and generally it is the lack of knowledge on the shooters part. and if you mess around in this long enough you will buy a dud that for one reason or other would cost more than it's worth to get to work, even if your able to do it yourself.

As far as plinking for fun all of the mechanical types I have, they shoot well or they would go bye bye, as Townsend Whelen said, "Only accurate guns are interesting".

Winchester 63 is the most natural shooting firearm for me. Mine has been around since 1949 and I shoot it a lot, mostly offhand. It's deadly on clay fragments and shotgun shot cups out to 50 yards. :)

LOL Bishop you old dawg, my carry piece is a Stainless Taurus millenium PT111 G2 9mm as well. I like it just fine. It is with me 99% of the time, often even in gun free zones as it is so easy to conceal for a 12 +1 full power 9mm piece.

Just can't get away from the 1911 and variants in .45 ACP, although last year my wife picked up a sweet little S&W Airweight in .38 Spec +P that I've taken a real liking to. Oh what the hell. I like 'em all.

My Savage 25-06 is my favorite, I have used it so much anything, any size, from 40 feet to 400 yards is not a problem. I took it to my dad's house so he could use it to shoot coyotes and so i would force myself to become more familiar with my Savage 22-250. I've been building a house for a couple years and have not had the chance to shoot much but hopefully I can get more familiar with my 22-250 this fall. I would like to get an AR22-250 but after reading Selco's blog I decided I better keep with the standard .223/556 just so I can use common ammunition/parts.

Like many have said it all depends. A MKII and a HP are always shot every time I go out to practice.

I think the model was 112BVSS. It's a bolt gun with a stainless bull barrel. I don't see it on their website anymore. It is similar to this Savage Arms Firearms 12 BVSS but with a long action.

I picked up a mk11 with a 10 inch barrel always kept it in my truck it was like shooting a rifle but where I worked I had vehicle search's so I kept it behind the seat in a soft tool case it had a place for a level to slide into it was never found then I traded the truck in and left the soft case on the back of the seat took all the tools out and forgot about the Ruger remember a month later to late it was gone some one got a good deal my be the detailer

I like the high power but never owned one the got way out of my price range pretty quick.

Probably my Colt Woodsman or Winchester model 63, they put little bitty holes in things but they always put them in such effective spots.
