Back when you could tell your kids that they could trust the police?
(Ironically, the same line the gun grabbers use, when they tell us why we have to turn in our firearms!! )

Now, I'm not condemning everyone who's part of the various police forces, and I do still believe that the majority of them are doing it right, and for the right reasons.....but this sure does put a stain, on that blue stripe! (n)

I like how 2 years ago the police were racist and out to get you.
Now the narrative has changed course by about 180°.

I am still an optimist, and believe the vast majority of officers of the law are good, honest people.

Unfortunately, there are bad in every field, in every walk of life.

EDIT: When I was a boy, ALL of the officers I grew up knowing, none directly related to me, were always men and women whom I could look up to.

When I was a boy (still am, some might say) there were NO police women, not even in the big towns. There were meter maids in the cities, but that was the size of it. We didn't have meters in my burg.

Guess I have been lucky. In my 61 years, all my dealings with cops have been good, except for that speeding ticket I got one night in Louisianna. But I was way over the limit. My Firebird liked to fly! :D

Same here, except there was ONE Seattle Motorcycle Cop that gave me grief when I was in my Hippy Phase.... I had a junk Vespa "SlugBug" Scooter as transportation, and He loved to ride up beside my in the University District, and give me grief... Made a habit of stopping me every time he saw me... Then one afternoon he passed me going the other direction, and did a Lights &
Sirens U-turn, and pulled me over, and gave me a Ticket for "NOT having a RED Enough TailLight, on my scooter.... SO I took him to Municipal Traffic Court, and drew Judge Vernon Towns, (The Hanging Judge of Seattle Traffic Court) So, The Cop gets up on the stand, and gives his speal, and then I got to cross examine him.. In his direct Testimony, He had stated that he had followed my for a MILE before stopping ME... Under cross I asked him the street that we were on, and what direction he was going and what direction I was going... Then I asked him how far passed me did he go, before he did his U-Turn with Lights & Sirens, He said about a half Mile... Then I asked him how he had seen my Scooters Tail Light, in broad Daylight, traveling in the opposite direction, and then entered into evidence a city Map showing that the street in question is less than 1/2 mile long with a Tee intersection on each end... and asked him how could his testimony, be the WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHIG BUT THE TRUTH in light of these FACTS?? He turned a bit Gray...The City Attorney asked for a continuance right away, which the Judge Granted for an hour.... When my case was recalled, the Cop was gone, and the City Attorney asked the Judge to drop ALL Charges... The Judge asked me If that would be satisfactory with me... I asked the Judge if the Officer would be held "In Contempt of Court", seeing how he just skipped out, after committing Perjury, during his testimony? Another recess was called... 15 minutes later, in Cambers, the Judge asked me if I had completed Law School. I Laughed, "NO, your Honor, I just almost finished a degree in NitroOrganic Chemistry ." He said "Son, You sure have missed your calling. Officer, you had better NOT show up, with this defendant in my Court ,again. Do you understand? $100US Fine for Perjury, to be paid, Personally. Case dismissed"... My One and ONLY, BIG Debut as a Defense Citizen...

Most every LEO and Deputy I know are stand up family folks that take pride in doing the best job they can! Most are also passionate about their jobs and would never break the public trust!
How ever, there are a few who have the Power Trip and feel they need to prove their superior over every one else!

I'm still holding out hope that the bad ones will be weeded out in time. And I'm still holding out hope that the world is going to regress back to the days when everyone showed each other mutual respect. But if none of this happens , I still know where my boat sank , and I'll be pretty pissed off if I've got to go diving to retrieve my lost treasures .
