Long read but lets you in on the refugee process in Britain

The refugees who gave up on Britain

The whole thing reminds me of a Vet trying for service connected injury or disease.

Good read. My opinion is that he arrived, took the money from the government, all he could get from the charities, made no attempt to assimilate by learning English, etc, got totally discourage due to the loss of his family and isolation, took everything he could from the charities, and left. Now the people who supported him and were in the long run trying their best to help him feel guilt for their "failure". Is it a disaster, yes, but so is losing your job and getting divorced in the USA, or being 40, single, and having a heart attack, or being autistic or bipolar and trying to navigate our mental health system or lack there of. In the SHTF fiction, he is the individual on the farm who does nothing, complains constantly and finally is escorted to the gate with 2 weeks food and told to never come back
I feel sorrow for a lot of people, but I do not understand the desire to help all those in need, we live in a limited world and his goal, security for his family and stability in England is very understandable, but if he, his wife, and their children had made it as a group to England, got their permits, etc, then it would be one more nail in the coffin of the culture that used to be there.

Reminds me of a lot of hurricane Katrina victims still moping around Dallas looking for handouts.

The care given to veterans is an earned entitlement, one paid by service that can include a lot of blood and suffering. The difficulties many of them go through to get those entitlements is a disgrace.

A refugee IMO is granted one thing and that’s entry to a country and the protections afforded by that status. My grandparents were refugees and they weren’t given squat nor should they have been. They gave up both their native languages and spoke only English even in their own home. They made it just fine and even prospered.

I sure hope the whiney bitch in the article isn’t coming here next to take my tax money and then complain about it

What isn't in Dallas is the Texans from East Texas who got nailed by the next Hurricane. We manned a Church retreat area a bit further west of us and the Katrina Bunch acted as if they were on a holiday, trash inside and out of their area, when the buses came to take them home they loaded up all the TVs and other items in the cabins and tried to take them home.

OTOH, the family groups and singles from East Texas had the cleanest and safest area, self patrolled and always someone on watch and when they left their area was cleaner than when they came.

While manning the Aid Station I always took a corner position to cover the Room. Of course I had the 6 of others and their welfare in my Hip Pocket.

My dad's great, great grand parents came here as indentured servants , my mom's parents came here escaping Europe as well . No one was handing them any thing, and they made it here .
The problem here is that democrats get the ball rolling with welfare and they think the money is owed to them. word flys back home," government is handing out homes an money and the flow never stops" the free money mind set is feeling entitled to any thing they can get without work."

I'm so tired of this demo, repub argument

if you talk to people we all want the same thing, a strong country with little government, How we differ is in how we think we can achieve that end. If we started talking about how to achieve a goal rather than letting corporate media divide us over ridiculous issues like 'all democrats want is handouts' and all 'republicans want is war' then we might actually have the kind of country we all want.

Bout if all you want to do is argue then by all means continue to call names and make over generalizations like children in the school yard.

Yeah, well I volunteer too much and have seen more than I want to see and can say that the most over used word in all this BS is (DIVERSIFIED).
That Buzz word means to divide, yet all the Media types and know it alls use it as a way to look good to what they think is their audience.

This country developed from diverse nations in trouble that is a fact. But the diverse immigrants must come together as one and the idiots in the media need to forget the Buzz word that is useless.

It isn't a democrap vs repubcrat arguement, it has ended up being an argument in the belief that everyone is owed some basic set of entitlements, education, housing, education, etc and that we also owe those rights to everyone else in the world. The second group believes that you should be helped under extreme circumstances, but you should provide for those things yourself and that our nation and culture should be preserved. While it isn't as cut and dried a that, it boils down to that. Since both beliefs are very ingrained, there seems to belittle compromise and both sides are dug in for a long war. Add a 1400 year old religious conflict to the mix and I think the best thing one can do is be sure your preps are current.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

Religion has little effect with me.

Basically, don't be a douchebag and help yourself as much as you can. If you're an unproductive idiot, you can be forwarded to another country. Denmark, perhaps. Or maybe Syria or Libya....

That dirt bag in England didn't and ought to be deported post haste to Afghanistan. I don't give a damn who he knows there (maybe the family his yellow ass ran from in an emergency).

As for Katrina, I live in Dallas area and we caught several fake moochers and grifters at work and church over the years
