North Korea's "About Face"

Not seeing anyone address this here, I wanted to see how many of you are drinking this particular Kool-Aid? Until 10 days ago, Ol' Kim wanted to nuke the United States, and now he is best buddy to South Korea and wants a nice peaceful life with good 'ol Uncle Sam, and hey, let's go ahead and end this pesky little war with the South while we're at it.
Personally I ain't buying in. I feel that he is either needing to regroup, waiting to strike when our guard is down, or we have given him a top secret near death experience, in which case maybe he did turn over a new leaf. I don't think the nuclear site cave-in took out all of his nuclear capability, and I don't think we're really starving them out just yet. So, anyone else with any theories on this sudden change of attitude?

 

Sounds like his nuke testing site might have imploded and could be creating some fallout.
I am guessing a vent in the mountain blowing radioactive material into China would not please the Chinese.........

 

I asked the same thing when all of a sudden He started to make nice. He made a 180 deg turn.

1) China is pi$$ed of @little Kimmy. Seriously pi$$ed for the first time or in a long time. Maoists no longer hold sway in the Politburo. China is facing a metric crapton of its own problems and doesn't need KIm making more. The Chinese economy is on the brink of collapse.

2) China has cut off all trade with PDRK - no food, no fuel. Nothing.

3) Trump will not put up with his shLt. None of it. So, no shakedown, no free food, no free anything. To quote the man "Out rockets are bigger and ours actually work".

4) Nobody in the rest of Asia will give them the time of day.

Facing mass starvation of the entire population - to include the military, he is in the classic spot - between a rock and hard place. If the military gets hungry enough, they will turn on their officers and the Kim Regime. Then all Hell will break loose....

Best to play kissyface with the RoK and hope for some food shipments. Nuke test site and likely a good chunk of his nuke scientists got buried in landslides. He has nothing to 'give up'

He has done this before...... rattles his saber, backs down when called on it, gets some sort of payout, waits a few years and repeats the process.....
But this time he may not get any reward, not from our current Prez.....

 

Kim had a "Come to Jesus" visit to China and was told they would not save his fat ass if Mathis came for it.

 

Trust, but verify. It would be nice if they did finally feel the need to wake up and act right , and take care of his people. It just seems like he made that 180 really quick , with little to no negotiations , makes it seem a little fishy if you ask me.

 

Almost willing to bet the sanctions were / are beginning to affect his lifestyle. He's probably getting worried because he knows he won't be getting any planeloads of cash. He may have begun to lose a few pounds - a very scary thing for him.

 

I think everyone has already stated what I think. North Korea is definitely between a rock and a hard place. China will no longer assist and let's be frank, he knows he cannot win a war with the U.S. and Trump will not cave in so... he has to play nice. And, he will get the food his country needs if he plays nice for without it he has a very good chance of being overthrown by hungry people.
Whether he truly gives up his nuclear program is a different story...my guess is he will not because it got him what he wanted, got him this far, so he will continue it in secret.

 

He has not actually done anything significant yet. When we are packing up his nuclear materials and shipping them out I will take notice, until then talk is worthless.

 

At least Trump isn't buying , with billions of dollars , NK's " word " that they'll stop trying to make nuclear weapons , like Odumbo and Kerry did with Iran , the one country that would probably sacrifice every member of their society to bomb us back to the Stone Age.

 

I believe that I saw it on AgDay news, is that north Korea as of last week has planted 0% of their crops due to unusual cold.

 

My other theory: Become friends with S. Korea, convince them to get rid of the US bases there, then either take over the country or begin a huge alliance with China. I'm sure both China and Russia would love to have us out of S. Korea.

 

IIRC a recent NK soldier had to undergo emergency treatment... he ran across the border

yes he got shot by other NK soldiers... but while in the hospital they discovered he had many parasitic worms!

something about the agricultural methods used by NK seems be the culprit...

 

North Korea will probably do that once they have food to feed their troops.
