Hey yall, Found the site thru another forum I am a member of. Thought I'd sign up and see how things were here. With the tornadoes we have here, I plan on getting some things together to prep for the worst. Looking forward to seeing what yall talk about and see what advice I may be able to try out.
Howdy Do... Best to plan on putting any Prep’s well below Ground level, and even better, Do NOT make your above Ground Abode, a Trailer or Mobile Home...They tend to grow Wings, and Fly... If I lived in that country, (Tornado Alley) I. would be living in a Hobbit Hutch, with a Big Pile of Dirt & Grass overhead, and Storm Shutters on all other openings... Just Say’en....
Welcome to our tree @OKLHUNTER .. You will find the limbs of knowledge are spread wide and the roots are set deep.
Welcome to the Monkey, was raised in Minnesota and will never forget hearing that weird noise a tornado makes in a thunderstorm about 2 AM and having no idea where it was. Spent a couple hours in the coal cellar and dad was in no hurry to come out.
Welcome fellow Okie. Same here for why I mainly prep. Alot of different types of weather events. Along with the tornados, wild fires and ice storms, its good to have stuff on hand. Just about a month ago, we lost rural water for a few days. I ran through some of my water, but have since replenished.
Greetings from Colorado and welcome to the monkey @OKLHUNTER. After reading @yeti695's post, there are a lot of natural disasters that people in OK need to prep for. Glad you found us.
Are you talking about me.... or him, well me also....well you know, then there is the other guy....but he is a nut.....don't listen to em.
