Democrat Sheriff candidate suggests killing people to take their guns

Ashville used to be a favorite town of mine, but the last time I was there about 4 years ago it was a cesspool of liberal tree hugging smell-their-own-farts trash from somewhere else. NOT the town I used to love.

Hal only said the judges should be murdered, and after 2 trials that ended with locked juries, they tried him a third time and found him guilty. This was a guy who was working undercover for a while for the FBI. I personally heard the radio show when he said it, and never did he say he was going to do it, only that someone should. We're on a slippery slope in these times, and I hate to see one of our own get messed up.

 

The son of a bitch has essentially threatened me and everyone of the gun culture that is my family with murder, Molon Labe.

 

So, to play devils advocate...you just said "Come and get them"...and he said "Ok". I don't agree with his stance or sentiment, but Molon Labe is a challenge (yes, I know, it's in my signature, I'm making a point). It's silly to issue a challenge and then get bent out of shape when someone takes you up on it (or in some cases calls your bluff). No @Seacowboys, I'm not saying you are bluffing, but a LOT of people are.

We were supposed to and did start out as a republic but have been a democracy for a long time now. Hence the current mess.

I get what you are saying, but I don't feel that we are the republic that our founders had either.

 

Tend to think a lot of our problems are due to the loss of both our civility and belief in some fundamental truths about how to live together. Judea-Christian ethic used to work fairly well as well as a give and take in our relations with those that rule us. More and more of the population now believes in their version of reason or science rather than a moral code and wishes to base our laws on their beliefs. Not a good tactic to make comments on future actions. Can be taken as a threat, put you on a list somewhere, its poor OPSEC, and it really hard to know how you will react in the real world. Last but not least, it always helps in a fight if there is an element of surprise. I do think that the individual running for sheriff has probably energized his opposition to get out and vote and if he does win, may have a hard time finding juries that will follow his wishes. As an old man, I have more faith in a well trained dog than my limited abilities with a firearm to defend my home. He can hear, smell, bite, and sleeps a lot lighter than I do.

So you're telling me the dems who want to protect everyone from gun violence are threatening gun violence agains law abiding people who don't hurt anyone instead of going after criminals who cause virtually all the gun violence.

Actually, if you think about it, most of us has made the same sort of threat, "pry it from my cold dead hands" or "Molon Labe" - in other words - if you want my firearm you will have to kill me but do not expect me to die quietly. So, screw'em, let him run his mouth...

If he truly thinks that he has enough deputies and the few Feds they'll give him to try and confiscate people's firearms - well - that guy doesn't have the brains that God gave a goose and certainly doesn't deserve to be sheriff. He will be outnumbered 100 to 1, probably more because once they open this Pandora's Box it ain't closing again. Most LEOs understand this. There is one hell of a lot of animosity against the government, State and Federal, a powder keg with a short fuse, and it will not take much to set it off. Friggin idiot...and he wants to be Sherriff.

Wow I'm glad the police solved all the crime, closed all warrants, caught all the drunk drivers, put all the criminals in jail and have nothing to do with their time but go after law abiding gun owners who have not broken any laws.
I hope they don't dislocate their shoulders patting them selves on the back.
