Just anther way to break down the laws that provide a strong legal system of commerce.

Better known as free for all economics.

Open the door shake up the commerce to the PTB Specs. and watch the bodies fall.

About as unplanned as the kid march.

So, are we going to do the same for:
    • Tobacco
    • Alcohol
    • Caffeine
    • Sugar
    • Fat
    • Oil companies
    • Coal and oil powered power plants
All of those things pose a health risk...

    Haha, liberals.
I see 3 huge flaws in their lack of reasoning.
That some how only ar15 rifles are the problem when it comes to gun violence.
They seem to think that only gun manufacturers can build these rifles.
They think that that 60 year old ar15 technology can be monopolized.

This means they don't understand gun violence, they don't understand manufacturing and they don't understand economics.

I'm surprised how people can be this stupid and still function independently.

The author clearly has no grasp of economics, or reality for that matter. 3 minutes of my life wasted reading that worthless tirade.

So, break laws to punish a lawful industry, hurting only honest law-abiding citizens. Okay.........

Guess the dimwit never heard of the economy of scale. If fewer firearms are manufactured and sold at high cost, they'll also become far more expensive to manufacture and profits go down as a result. Imagine how much Chevys would cost if GM made only 100 per year. Maybe he's hoping they'll all just go out of business.

And speaking of cartels, if firearms become expensive and hard to get, how long will it be before the Mexican cartels go into the firearms manufacturing and /or smuggling business? They're already in the drug manufacturing and smuggling business. Wouldn't take too much to throw a hundred or so AK-47s on a load that was coming north anyway. They could buy those pretty cheap from the Chinese, or buy the parts and assemble them in Mexico.

Historically whenever there's been a demand for a product, as during prohibition, someone will fill that demand whether it's legal or not. I know it hasn't happened in Australia, at least not that we've been told, but they don't have a porous border with Mexico.

It would scare the mortal crap out of them to know how many are being manufactured w/o serial numbers in garages across the country.

First, I don't think the gun manufacturers are that powerful, especially when you compare them to others: oil, car, drugs, etc. I think they would be way far down on the list.

Second, what business is going to raise prices that will put themselves out of business. They would have to raise prices to the point that not even the rich would purchase them and then they would only purchase one.

This is the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard. And, let's say they did do it, wouldn't you expect China or Russia to come in to fill the gap?

Philandering has nothing to do with creating a cartel. One of the things that got missed by the Brookings idiot is the need for demand to support all the cartel participants. Hesheit also missed the idea of laws against collusion and monopolies that would have to be repealed. Right. That will surely happen, but not before dot gov starts managing/directing production and distribution at the worker level as well as setting the prices at the consumer level, then decide which mfr gets how much.

Sure sounds like a Communist 5 Year Economic Plan, doesn’t... When was the last time a Communist 5 Year Economic Plan ever even came CLOSE to actually happening?
